My little local paper in western Mass consistently shows more conviction than the NYT could imagine.

It’s helpful to recognize that any attack on trans rights is an attack on democracy itself (the trans panic was quite literally engineered by the religious right, an anti-democracy movement) because it reveals very quickly which pundits & politicians are standing in the way of our freedom.

Given how much faith is required to believe AI is more knowledgeable than human beings with decades of experience, this feels more like a religious revolution than a technological one. They’re forcibly inserting their weird little gods into all of our lives and demanding we have faith in them too.

You can tell a lot about a person when they use the word “whore” without irony. Like they’re broadcasting their deepest, darkest fears and letting us know that instead of getting therapy, they’re going to make it everyone else’s problem.

Shotout also to the conservative dude standing beside me, at his first ever protest, waving an American flag because “this is all too much” and politely scolding the jerks. One dude drove by with a giant Confederate flag — in Puget Sound, ffs — and he yelled, “It’s not too late to change!”

“One who seeks to see them should take the afterbirth of a firstborn female black cat, born to a firstborn female black cat…” Whew, that’s a tall order. I’m picturing some archivist whose entire job is to maintain cat birth records just to be sure they’ve got the right afterbirth.

I just learned that an early form of hair removal involved grinding up “cats dung” and mixing it with strong vinegar to create a really unpleasant paste.

Yeah, I’ve got zero patience for posturing leftist dipshits who care more about whether opposing fascism makes them feel cool than they do about shutting this shit down.

As someone who was on a protest organizing Zoom call last night, motherfuckers need to be ready to literally carry water for 70+ year old ladies who lunch (laudatory), because in many places that is who is currently organizing and putting in the work of building a resistance.
