THIS IS A PERFECT SUMMARY. I said the same thing to a friend of mine before I started book 5. Honestly...Nesta is my favorite sister.

It's certainly not unheard of, especially in the northeast where I live. Many of us have/had commutes northwards of 2 hours. And (in support of our point), during the first six months of covid, only essential employees were required to commute. The lack of traffic chopped their drive times in half!

I always want to comment on so many things I love about each episode, but Jonathan, your tea kettle laugh tops them all every time! I'm *so* happy you haven't edited them out!!

Totally agree with this. Though as a disclaimer - I'm an American. I see the benefits of both. I understand that collaboration in person is a bit different than remote; but allowing people to work from home makes them more productive, healthier, and saves on commuting time and congestion.

If you're thinking to yourself, "Damn, I wish I had the luxury!", ask yourself why you don't. Too often people assign projects to their employees with unrealistic deadlines. This is the one time where I advocate for meetings and frequent check-ins.

Sometimes all you need is some guidance on what the next step is. And sometimes just figuring that one thing out is enough. Rushed or stressed work is just going to lead to a headache and a lot of potential for mistakes. We need to stop pushing unrealistic deadlines on ourselves.

Signal has been great, to be honest. The file limits for sharing videos isn't as small as it is on Discord and there's like 85% less noise while I'm in the app. It doesn't have the voice/streaming features but it's been a great replacement for FB Messenger.

Also Michael Chernus being in this and Severance is messing me up. I'm half expecting him to pull out a copy of "The You You Are" and start doing a dramatic reading.

And, for what it's worth, this can totally apply to your personal life, too. Almost all of our devices have ways of creating notes, reminders, or recurring events on our calendars. Taking the time to set up these reminders makes my life/work balance flow a lot easier with way less surprises.

I genuinely believe in the value of documenting your processes. Especially the tasks that you perform as infrequently as once a year. Too often companies don't prioritize this, and it leads to panicked workers, inconsistencies, and loss of knowledge if someone leaves.

But instead, I remembered that I had documented the process the year before and already had a step-by-step instruction to get me through it. What would have normally taken me all day to remember took less than 15 minutes.

Oh hey! I got that same playmat for my spouse and he loves it! The design reminded me of the carpet pattern in The Shining and that was what made me choose it over others. lol

Big time agree with this sentiment. Having a platform that influences people means you're taking a position whether you vocalize it or not. Silence is compliance.

I'd love to see AI help legislators come up with comprehensive and effective ways to provide things in America like universal healthcare. I'd love to see it use the incredible amounts of data that it collects to help others, instead of being used to eventually replace their jobs.
