150-200 cables are damaged each year, 15% (7-43) by anchors. If we assume Baltic maritime activity is 5% of the global total (likely way too high) Baltic Sea ought to see 1.5 incidents per year. 2023 & 2024 averaged at 6 breaks annually, 4 x higher. Map, visual aid for eyeballing 5%.

Ukrainian TM-62M anti-tank landmines make powerful blast bombs when modified to be dropped by a heavy drone. The igniter pull-tab of a length of safety (delay) fuze is tethered to the drone. The fuze leads to a detonator and explosive in the fuze well of the landmine.

Cook Island flag oil tanker Eagle S lost 25% of her speed minutes before she crossed the broken cable Estlink2. She crossed at 10:26Z, ie the time of cable fault. She proceeded at affected speed til she reached shallow waters, where she lost all momentum. After some maneuvers she regained speed.

In December of 1991 - 33 years ago - Ukrainians voted overwhelmingly (92%) for their independence. In the Donbass region, the pro-independence vote was 85% and in Crimea it was 54%. Turnout was 84%. Ukrainians chose to be free from Russia and Putin can't undo this vote with his military.
