10 rules from Sister Corita Kent. These may apply to the current circumstances.

My great-grandparents dealt with night rides past their house when they lived in southern Indiana. This is a really good read.

Seeing my hometown making the news for the most heartbreaking things.

Saw the neighbor next door outside and she said it's some roofing business but maybe try a better way my dudes.

Not creepy at all that some dude knocked and rang my doorbell, stood on the porch for awhile, walked down and stood on the sidewalk, took a picture of the house, and then walked down the street to meet up with some other dude.

Can definitely say that friends taking the latter approach with me in 2004 has me in a much different and better place 20 years later. You will not see immediate results, but that doesn't mean that the wheels aren't turning even if it takes a long time for them to turn in better ways.

Check in on the people you know who have some smarts and empathy but come from much more conservative spaces and don't feel they have anyone they can talk to about what they're seeing because some of them are definitely looking to not feel crazy right now.

Dazzle-ships in Drydock at Liverpool - Edward Wadsworth 1919

being up at 2am a few years ago on eBay and ordering this band's complete discography was one of my few good expensive life choices. The early punk stuff and then the devastating post-punk albums with Pavica singing are so good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pPL...

I have some theories on this person's political trajectory but hope that I am wrong.

R. O Lord, have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us.

The "amen" at the end really makes this one.

I get that these are just hipsters being whimsical in the missed connections part of the alt-weekly but I love these ones anyway:

Dawg they Freedom Fried us, it’s so over
