I believe a lot of his context is California dealing with small "c" conservatives registered as Democrats fighting any change to the built environment.

I'm writing this response while sitting in his district. The bigger issue is ICE raids. There are rumors floating around that school districts are considering layoffs because so many parents have pulled kids out of school, thereby causing ADA to tank.

The threat of mass deportation is already causing people to attempt to disappear from the public rolls. When unimmunized people withdraw from the health system we all become less safe.

If mass deportation happens it will inflate food prices like no one has seen in 75 years.

Deporting everyone south of the Tejon pass in California would be really hard.
