It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

This is extortion of an ally: “The terms of the new proposal … call for Ukraine to relinquish half of its revenues from natural resources, including minerals, gas and oil, as well as earnings from ports and other infrastructure.” www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/w...

For decades, the US government has painstakingly kept American science #1 globally—and every facet of American life has improved because of it. The internet? Flu shot? Ozempic? All grew out of federally-funded research. Now all that's being dismantled. 1/ www.technologyreview.com/2025/02/21/1...

This is what the Silicon Valley gang wants the US to base its full faith and credit on.

Musk & Trump’s Russian tactics means all of Silicon Valley becomes Kaspersky. Have the techbros thought this through?

Editor Commentary: Who does this to other people? To doctors, nurses, farmers, teachers, professors, scientists, veterans, working families, people with disabilities, children with special needs, poor people? What twisted, unnatural men.

Just a reminder that fascists, authoritarians, dictators of all stripes destroy archives— books, museums, databases, &c— because those things provide windows onto a plurality of other ways we might organize the world. And so preserving, defending, and spreading that knowledge harms those regimes.

Dr. King said of all the inequalities, inequality in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane. The proposal by MAGA extremists to cut YOUR Medicaid to give the wealthiest Americans a tax cut is inhumane. Light up those phone lines! (202) 224-3121 #DontCutMyMedicaid

Young voters really don't like Elon Musk. His unfavorability is 54% with all voters. 67% with voters under 30. Feels important for a party that needs to win a much bigger share of young voters.

BREAKING — States attorneys general lead by @newyorkstateag.bsky.social were just granted a preliminary injunction in their case against DOGE. The team cannot access Treasury Department payment systems or data while the lawsuit proceeds. Major.

Jeffries: Elon Musk has emerged as one of the most unpopular figures connected to the Trump Administration. Trump’s poll numbers are moving in the wrong direction, and it hasn’t even been a month. The real question is: What is the corrupt bargain that has been struck between Trump and Elon Musk?

Where GOP is faced w the fact that they represent poor people GOP has spent decades free-riding off of Democrats who defend the poverty programs that benefit GOP constituents They SO deserve the “politically difficult” position they are now in www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...

"The crowd again started shouting 'tax Elon,' 'tax the wealthy,” “tax the rich' and 'tax the billionaires.'" The county went 68% for Trump www.lagrandeobserver.com/news/local/r...

“…this is a story of my grandma’s family, but almost every family in Ukraine has similar stories. We all descend from people who survived a terrible period when Ukraine was the deadliest place on earth … to surrender would be to return to that past….” lareviewofbooks.org/article/to-s...

WOW "Seven western Wisconsin Republican lawmakers did not appear at an event hosted by the Wisconsin Farmers Union in Chippewa Falls Friday as farmers from the area said they were concerned about the effect that President Donald Trump’s first month in office is having on their livelihoods." ⤵️

Following a loud public outcry about job cuts at the National Parks Service — and a relentless media campaign from outdoors enthusiasts across the country — it looks like the Trump administration has blinked. via @jackdolan.bsky.social

Most people probably aren’t tracking this but Senate Republicans just started an all-night voting marathon that will allow them to gut Medicaid and increase child hunger while giving handouts to billionaires like Elon Musk.

It strikes me that this is a great organizing opportunity for us. Everybody has a local post office & rallies abt saving your post office would likely get local media attention.

Looking for a silver lining in a stormy sky, let me just say that I'm grateful to live in a world with postal experts

📬🚨 HUGE NEWS 📬🚨 Trump plans to fire the USPS governing board, merge the Postal Service into the Commerce Department. It would disrupt 55 years of non-political mail service, and threatens to upend trillions of dollars of ecommerce and the 250 year-old US mail system.

So if you criticize Elon Musk, Trump’s DOJ will send you this letter. Members of Congress must have the right to forcefully oppose the Trump Administration. I will not be silenced.

Books designed to be read only by human eyes are different from books designed to be read by machines, which is why Google will tell you that the phrase “shake my booty” can be found in an 1863 English translation of Don Quixote.
