My local coffee shop makes a lovely hibiscus iced tea blend and I was devastated when I realized it was the culprit behind my horrible heartburn 😭😭

Also a lesson to be learned:
Never, ever, ever hand in your notice till you have your next offer IN WRITING

In the latter depiction, it comes across as just a normal part of the human experience. I think that’s just as powerful.
Anywho, stepping off my soapbox. Here’s a cat as a reward for finishing the thread

I love that we’re more comfortable portraying mental health issues on screen, and that we’re starting to get a full range of depictions, from the “oh this is BAD and someone’s gonna SUFFER” to “oh this is happening. We’ll come back to it later don’t worry”

Point is, Mensah being on the verge of a breakdown all the time yet carrying on is basically how a lot of us functioned before getting good care.
There’s no virtue in suffering like this, but it’s just how it is sometimes. I appreciate the raw, matter-of-fact portrayal of it

I got through a Bad Time in my teen years, finished undergrad very successfully, did pretty well in a high-stress job, and did grad school in a pandemic all unmedicated. How? If you don’t know what’s happening (or don’t acknowledge it), you keep pushing forward

Millennial here. Picked the ring out myself and wouldn’t have it any other way. I didn’t even know what I wanted until I tried it on. No way in hell he’d have chosen what I wanted 😂
The only “surprise” was when and where the proposal happened. No regrets

That and it doesn’t really change whether or not you’re attracted to someone at a baseline level
If a guy says “oh she’s UNATTRACTIVE without makeup and being a tease” I can safely assume he has never seen a woman in her natural state 💀

Plus if a man’s attitude is “ugh I’m not attracted to her with that makeup on” the response should be to throw the whole man out 🥰

Yep. It CAN be for men. But most of us do it for ourselves. Don’t think my husband would give a rats ass if I wore or not on any given day.

Same with makeup. Idk why a certain subsection of men think women wear it for them. Maybe some of us like sparkly eyelids and lipstick from time to time
They loooove to complain it’s “false advertising” but you are not the customer bb 😇

Told my husband he reminds me of Steven from Paladin’s Grace (righteous, patient, earnest, can knit) and he was like “a paladin??”
So he took a quiz online to see his D&D class and LO AND BEHOLD I married a paladin 🤣

I’ve ended all my calls to her DC office with something like “please shape up or I will primary the 💩 out of you” and it’s becoming truer by the day 🫠
