My almost 3 year old son loves watching baseball with us but he keeps saying the players and we have our arms on backwards. He will not elaborate.

I read @mollyknight.bsky.social s book just before playoffs last season and it got me "back" into baseball. Still mad about Mookie not being a Red Sox player anymore, but I'm happy to watch local and cheer for players I like everywhere

This Earth Day - Save Morley Field

We watched the Red Sox opening day game yesterday, my son insisting on playing a 2yo's interpretation of the events on screen during the commercials. During pitches, he would yell "aw, he missed!"

thinking about princess mononoke a lot, these days

It is not a joke to say that this movie changed my life

We went to see a local showing of Fire Walk With Me in honor of David Lynch and I saw a crowd expecting an episode of Twin Peaks become increasingly divided and by the Bang Bang Bar scenes several people walked out. The show: silly, fun, horrifying. The movie: horrifying, fun, rarely silly #filmsky

You cannot overstate the impact of the frivolous litigation against librarians and website operators. The whole point of these "harmful to minors" liability laws is to scare people into complying in advance with the conservative censorship project. It costs so much money to go to court.

More simply put, this means gender-affirming care providers nationwide will continue to receive federal funding, pending further litigation. It's great news.

Me, as an undercover cop: You got any doobies? Some crank? Maybe some snow? Ganja? Smack? Junk? Some toot? Did I already ask about doobies? Drug Dealer: Are you an undercover cop? Me: Yes.

Why do I watch White Lotus when there are other shows that do the point better: it's very pretty to look at it and I will never get to go to any of these places!

From @altnps.bsky.social I could have reshared, but I didn't want the "how you can help" section to get lost. 🫂💙

House Rs just passed the budget resolution, the first step in their process to enact a bill that'd kick millions off Medicaid & cut SNAP down to just $1.60 per person per meal on avg while cutting taxes for the top 0.1% by $278k - all while increasing the debt 🧵on what's to come and WHERE TO FIGHT

Justice Department supervisors are directing employees to hold off on replying to the federal government-wide directive to describe recent job achievements — an Elon Musk order that DOJ staff worry will trigger ethics violations.

Hate self promo , but super proud of T Blockers, a trans hangout/horror film I made when I was 17 w no money that played my dream festivals & is now a SHUDDER exclusive & on Bluray. A personal film that feels scarily more relevant now then when we shot it, word of mouth is everything 🥹

The only reason the GOP is ‘panicking privately’ is because their constituents are yelling publicly. Otherwise they wouldn’t care. That means our organizing, our phone calls, our rallies, and our protests are working. Don’t let up on these cowards for one second. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

Standing and waiting in the hallway that leads to the hallway that leads to the room to pump at work bc someone else won't leave that hallway and I hate explaining what my tiny private office is used for.

Re listening to Maintenance Phase After Dark eps and the Diet Book Buffet episode, I had forgotten about the last book, that Ted Nuggent jump scare.

@aduralde.bsky.social I know this is subjective, but do you think the new Paddington is "scarier" than the first two? I have heard there is a spider scene

I've been thinking a lot about Night Moves (2013, dir Kelly Reichardt) since I watched it this past summer. I cannot put my finger on what it is about her films that works so well for me. There's a very specific dread that moves through them that feels very familiar but not in a horror way #filmsky

It's going to be more important than ever to avoid police when people are in crisis. Here's a useful list that includes crisis hotlines and warm lines that do not contact police: translifeline.org/resources/co...

Anyway that's always on my mind when I see "exponential rise in diagnosis". That doesn't necessarily mean more people have x, that really means more people are being diagnosed with x. ANYWAY thanks for coming to my nuance chat.
