The surest sign they see a Trump-inspired recession looming on the horizon? The far right mega-influencers have already begun to blame it on Biden.

The need to reprove that measles is bad reminds me of the incredible resources spent disproving any connection between vaccines and autism. I think, sometimes about where that energy might have gone.

Either transgender Americans are important enough to warrant year after year of breathless coverage questioning their healthcare and existence, or they're so insignificant that destroying their rights is the "least consequential" action of a presidency. www.readtpa.com/p/not-exactl...

DOGE crew straight up chewing on wires.

Well said @lollardfish.bsky.social - My son has worked so hard to carve out an independent life and now it feels as if it's all about ready to fall apart... the impact of what's happening and fear are very real on families like ours.

Trump’s abhorrent behavior with Zelensky should be a moment of clarity. America is firmly on the side of the global authoritarian movement and the post-war order has cracked. What makes it worse is all of this was predictable and our leaders failed us. jaredyatessexton.substack.com/p/the-end-of...

I like it when I come across a post which is neatly encapsulated, like a short story. It is an art, to write in such a way that, by the time I reached the fourth line line, I was reading it with THAT voice.

Someone generously shared this template of a handout they were inspired to create for their local community with me. Here's a canva link if you'd like to adapt it for your communities: www.canva.com/design/DAGgN...

"To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.” - This fucking pedo in the linked article, not Voltaire.

Montgomery County identified a case of measles over the weekend. We explain how the virus is transmitted, its symptoms, and vaccine options here 👇

"A weaker current may also allow more warm water to penetrate southwards, exacerbating the melting of Antarctic ice shelves and contributing to global sea-level rise. Faster ice melting could then lead to further weakening of the current, commencing a vicious spiral of current slowdown."

Hey all new followers. I have a newsletter, where I cover and investigate the far right. I also do some media criticism and cover activism. Give me a follow. It will always be free, but I do ask you to support my work.

This is a gut-wrenching, beautifully written essay. A doctor must watch helplessly as children die because USAID's freeze on aid has limited access to nutritional supplements. time.com/7258248/us-f...

For @msnbc.com, I wrote about Emilia Perez and the Oscars. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

President Trump has directed federal agencies to examine ways to bypass endangered species protections and other environmental regulations to ramp up logging across 280 million acres of national forests and other public lands.

Sens. Hassan and Shaheen "voted to confirm Marco Rubio as secretary of state, Doug Burgum as interior secretary, Kristi Noem as secretary of Homeland Security, John Ratcliffe as CIA director, and Scott Bessent as treasury secretary." From @willskipworth.bsky.social #NHPolitics buff.ly/43gYLUn

well, well, well, et cetera

I understand why those once-great papers, the Washington Post, the L. A. Times, bought up by billionaires, don't tell us how Trump/Musk are shredding the Constitution, taking away our safety net, destroying cancer research, impoverishing people. But the NYT? Where is it? We need the press!

Note that not only are they stopping payment to farmers in Kansas (and across the farm belt) for work already completed. They're doing the same to USAID contractors abroad, cutting off payment for work already done. So many of those aid orgs have already gone under. US farmers next.

Democrats learn one single thing ever i'm literally begging you

Professional associations need to step up to catch what government is dropping. Here's a great example.

I see the completely predictable and recurring third way bullshit is back. We do not, in fact, have to accept the moral panics about our queer friends and lies about our cities where you are safer, less likely to die of any cause, and are not, in fact, lawless hellholes.

I’m pretty sure this is what voters want from their elected officials www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/u...

To go along with our piece today, we published an extensive list of folks associated with DOGE. It builds off and adds to the strong work that Wired, WaPo, ProPublica and other pubs have been doing. The public has a right to know who is dismantling the government. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Imagine the good that money could have actually accomplished elsewhere

100% chance this will mostly be used against women, minorities, LGBTQ+, political opponents, and Elon's competitors.

Looking beautiful Time Square. 🇺🇦

Everybody get your shocked face on real quick: "The study found that religious teens who attended gender-segregated schools were more inclined to have sexual experiences w/members of their own sex than those at coed schools: 12% of boys vs 7% in coed schools; 13% of girls vs 9% in coed schools."

Zelensky has better things to do than read the Daily Mail. But how stomach-churning it would be for him to discover that Boris Johnson is now acting as an apologist for Trump as the latter seeks to undermine him, writes @arusbridger.bsky.social. www.prospectmagazine...

What a trip. 20 years later Kanye is selling t-shirts with swastikas on them and Mike Myers is the one calling out an American president on live television.

this, over and over again, but replace “liberals” with “journalists in Washington DC”
