A few months ago a colleague talked me into using ChatGPT to convert a script from matlab into python. I have been wrestling with that python script ever since and at this point I can say with relative confidence that chatGPT sucks at converting code from matlab to python.

404 Media's podcast this week had an interesting discussion of this. The judge found that training AI with copyrighted work is sufficiently "transformative" to be legal, BUT said they need to go ahead with a trial for all the book pirating they did. Piracy the AI folks have admitted to previously.
