The long bony fingers of our current administration have reached out and touched me. Stop work order on a project tied to the Justice 40 initiative. Luckily the work is done, project is mostly completed, but we WERE putting finishing touches on a peer reviewed article.

Happening now: protesters are outside the Fine Arts Building on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago this evening. People are in line to see House of Reps Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries for an event tonight promoting his recently released book. Crowd chanting at them, "we don't need a book tour!"

Friends, one of the best base-building organizations I know, @vocal-ny.bsky.social, is hiring an organizer in NYC (as well as one in the Western NY region). Please take a minute to think of people you know who could be a good fit for this role and make sure they know about it.

I guess people at the superbowl couldn't hear Kendrick Lamar because he wasn't lip syncing to a pre-recorded track?

Before climate change I had a rule to never get on a plane after December 19th. Time to go back to my core values.

Happy Black History Month

I'm officially up to date on all my vaccines & reported my daily meds as 'lost' to override insurance denial and stock up. Am I prepping for the unknown? Yes. Yes, I am. You should too.

I think website have been done but never for anyone this well known.

"I love wine". An illustration I just did for the upcoming issue of Noble Rot, a UK publication devoted to wine. Happy Valentine's Day!

I was driving around one cold winter day in Wisconsin when I spotted this group of barn cats, soaking up what little heat the weak sun provided. The animal bone hanging on the wall is from a moose. This photo screams "Wisconsin" to me. 😂 #photography #cats #winter

Mexico's president Sheinbaum signed a decree declaring February 14 as the Memorial day for General Vicente Guerrero, the first Afro-Mexican president, who is notable for abolishing slavery on September 15, 1829 which led to the US invasion of 1846 backing US occupiers that refused to comply.

Am I going to get any work done today? Not sure.

ATTN FEDERAL WORKERS: I’ll say this again: download all your SF-50s, performance evals, and your eOPF. Now. Print hard copies. And make sure you file an informal grievance with your supervisor within 15 days of any adverse action. Here is a template: www.muellershewrote.com/p/informal-g...

If you support any of this, you’re honestly just a terrible person. People’s lives are being upended and destroyed. For every 1% increase in unemployment, 40,000 people die—yet some are celebrating.

Is the Organization of American States convening to discuss the constitutional crisis in the US, or are those meetings just for Latin American states?

Heartbreaking news… Tonight, many of our friends were let go, and tomorrow, even more will follow. Word is that all probationary employees at NPS will be let go. 😭

I am going to have to find Danielle Sassoon's full resignation letter. Last time around I collected a bunch of material for my e-resource center and it looks like we are going to revisit fundamental principles of law again.

@hrw.org: "Vehicle pursuits by Texas state troopers and local law enforcement have killed at least 106 people and injured 301 in counties participating in Texas’ Operation Lone Star since the program began in 2021." www.hrw.org/news/2025/02...

hm. idk how I feel about this yet, for two reasons: -when someone is directed to do a Bad Thing, I often wonder about the calculus between resigning vs staying but refusing to do it & making them fire you -this person is a Fed Soc member and former Scalia clerk so lol congrats on finding a red line

So the shine is off Alex Spiro and William Burck?

In the old days insurance companies put a tail on people they thought were scamming then. Nowadays they just have to scour their social media. www.rte.ie/news/courts/...

Serena, can you....? Say less.

A dismissal WITHOUT prejudice then? Beware of precision when the statute of limitations was tolled by indictment. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...
