So excited to have this new poem up at @pinchjournal.bsky.social. Thanks so much to the editors and to @katiedozier.bsky.social for the inspiration!

The first poem I’ve written since getting married on Tuesday! ❤️ Written for my @RattlePoetry prompt to “Write a poem about the happiest place on earth.”

Key to a happy marriage will be having a duel right before our wedding 🎉 Hope you enjoy the latest episode, featuring poems by Bill Knott and Ruth Stone in a new format.

I’m often asked why I don’t write more poker poems—one unexpectedly flew out today in response to my @RattlePoetry prompt to “Write a poem that includes a memory you’ve never spoken of before. Include dialogue.” Haibun alert 🚨

Brand new episode of The Poetry Space_ (made with love) is out now! I share a moment from my undergrad workshopping experience that I did not love, as well as the poem from it. 🎉 podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

My Rattle prompt this week is to “Write an elegy that’s not about a person.” At Pacific University, I listened to a great talk Ellen Bass gave about The Elegy. Mine is half traditional—in that it employs the standard structure of lament, admiration, and solace.

Enjoyed this #ThePoetrySpace_ #podcast about #poetry #workshops. Definitely brings up some of my own workshop memories lol 🤩😭🤡💀

It’s happening again 🎉 ONE ART: a journal of poetry @oneart.bsky.social Super proud of editing last year’s incredible anthology and can’t wait to (somehow) top it this year!

Brand new episode of The Poetry Space_ is out now, with our special guest, Adrienne Christian. Whether your interest is in leading a poetry workshop or participating in one (or in a lot of cases, both!) we hope you’ll be thrilled with your workshop experience! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

As part of our recent two part episode series on “After Poems,” The Poetry Space_ Squad Member Dick Westheimer discusses how editors @onlypoemsmag.bsky.social went about curating one of his after poems.

Probably not the coolest thing to admit that I found my own @rattlepoetry.bsky.social prompt challenging, but I did! “Write a poem that explores the perspective of the other side and arrives somewhere opposite to where the poem begins.” Excited to hear everyone’s prompt poems soon!

The conclusion to our episode on after poems! podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/e...

Here’s the most moving poem I’ve read in a while. Through a seemingly effortless use of craft, “The Skaters” speaks to the human need to find personal connections. Empathy connects us and poetry offers us the chance to heal together. www.rattle.com/the-skaters-...

A well-intentioned listener meant to leave a 5 ⭐️ review of The Poetry Space_ but accidentally gave it one star, which, 46 reviews in, resulted in bringing us from a perfect 5 to a 4.9. If you enjoy our podcast and haven’t yet left a little review, I would appreciate it even more than normal. Thanks!

After “After Poems: Part One,” comes “After Poems: Part Two,” after which, I hope you have a great weekend!

In case you missed it, The Poetry Space_ is back in action with After Poems Part One. The latest episode dropped on Friday, with part two due on 1/31. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the… Hope you enjoy it! 💜

This is such a good conversation about the implications of AI for poetry and in particular for those of us teaching. Thanks to @timothygreen.bsky.social and @katiedozier.bsky.social for keeping my attention while I walked my dogs in the brrrrrr cold of western NY today.

Lmk when you all schedule the haibun intervention and I’ll show up/pretend to be taken by surprise 😅 Here’s my poem this week, based on my @rattlepoetry.bsky.social prompt to: “Think of a time you traveled. Write a poem that reimagines that journey but set in a different time period.” #poem

Writers talking about AI often spirals into a tornado of fear. What can writers do to code their own growth in the age of artificial intelligence? How will it change the future of poetry publishing, let alone poetry as we know it? podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Recording this in a couple hours for release tomorrow! Any questions/topics you’d like to see covered? 🤖

Why should others read our poems? Unless it’s actually a favor to us, we need to consider what it does for them!

Matching my mani to my future last name … as well as to my fiancé’s shirt 🌲

How do I find clouds (ie poets) to follow here?

We’ve only got a moment I say to him, and then tomorrow it’s someone else in this same backyard with the same dogwood we planted, drawing in its sap for the winter … —Al Ortolani

The only problem is that calling my @rattle prompt poem this week a versebun triolet sounds like I’m cooking up an obscure recipe 🍽️

David Kirby was the star of the latest Poetry Space_ and what a star he is. The three poems he read are among the three best I've ever published, and his insights into his process are invaluable. Enjoy!

#KidLitChat One podcaster/poetry editor who I feel has pushed me craft wise this year is @katiedozier.bsky.social. Her regular poetry prompts through @rattlepoetry.bsky.social kept me writing when my dad’s aneurysm ground my revisions to a halt. Her Poetry Space podcast introduced me to new forms

I really enjoy Katie’s The Poetry Space podcast. Last week they were exploring braid poems. And you should hear the guest read! 😳😮 podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...
