How about the Muslims you are forcing RTO upon, forcing to drive or travel, forcing to pollute the air, forcing to find child care and/or elder care upon without warning just to line your cronies pocketbooks? What do you have to say to them?

Please don’t force government workers back to the office. The twin cities need to evolve. WFH is the future. We should be pushing to reinvent Minneapolis. Adding more skyways and converting offices to residential spaces. We should be leading the WFH movement, not fighting it.

Hands off MN state unions, Tim Walz.

RTO is anti-worker. Stop sacrificing people in the name of the economy. That’s some GOP shit. You’re better than this.

You're not going to post about your decision to make people "Return to Office", without consulting the Unions or anyone else? This is a terrible decision that aligns you with all the wrong people. I'm ashamed of you for this mandate.

Why aren't you at the office "collaborating"? Why do you get work/ life balance but lowly state workers must be forced to commute then chained to the desk 8-5?
comment in response to post
Utter betrayal. You’ve lost at least 40000 votes.

Won’t spend a dime in St. Paul and I can’t wait for you to realize the positions you need to fill that don’t pay a living wage, just became completely undesirable since you got rid of the only positive thing that allowed people to live outside of the metro in cheaper areas.

Had you pegged for one of the good ones, but then you pegged your hard workers back with RTO. Did the real estate boys slip some tickets into your back pocket?
comment in response to post
Can you explain why you pulled telework for your state employees and forced an RTO?
comment in response to post
Your unilateral decision to send state workers back to the office was a shitty move.

Americans don't need office buildings. They need apartments, houses, homes. Anything that will get more people a living space, a place to hang their hat and sleep, and something affordable. No one cares about corporate real estate
comment in response to post
So you can work from a baseball field but others can't work from home?

Please rethink your decision to force state employees to work in an office. We downsized our buildings and don’t even have the space for staff. Not to mention, the additional expenses to drive/buy cars/pay for childcare will leave no money for us to “revitalize business.”

Shame on you going on Newsom's podcast and saying workers need to rto. Was a fan, not anymore.

It also needs to be stated that WFH allowed people to live in small rural communities and have a job, which helps rural communities thrive. He did this to cater to elites in St. Paul.

Forcing workers to be in the office 50% of the time is ableist, especially if there will be no precautions taken for COVID and other viruses. Everyone deserves to be safe while working. And many people can’t work in the office for many reasons. They are still great employees and just as productive.

You screwed state workers over on the last contract (by cutting education requirements because you can’t attract anyone to work for the state) and now you are screwing them again. If you need to do layoffs, just say that instead of literally copying what Musk did to force attrition.

@governorwalz.mn.gov Forcing people to go back into the office, especially in this economy, is a terrible idea, and not very progressive of you. Unless workers are getting a pay raise, going into the office will result in more hardship for the people who feel it the most - the working class.
comment in response to post
Hey Tim, let’s talk about your RTO policy and why you’d do us like this
comment in response to post
You are mandating state employees to return to office when many employees were hired with remote work as the new norm. There aren’t enough buildings for staff, and many live far away from their office. Please stop this!
comment in response to post
100% No warning, no justification except “to improve collaboration” - having good, smart employees leave the agency is about the worst thing imaginable for collaboration. I’ve lost my trust in Walz.
comment in response to post
State employees spent the day panicking about what being forced to RTO means for their families. I heard so many heartbreaking stories today. You are responsible. All to appease business owners in downtown St. Paul? Shameful.
comment in response to post
Yep &you know damn well there wont be any type of compensation for this. 75 miles is over 700 dollars a month in gas. It’s buying work clothes, having wear &tear on a vehicle &it’s additional childcare, when the state pays significantly lower than private sector. WFH attracted and kept people.

It's crazy how fast Democrats will go back to licking corporate boot after a presidential election is over. We get 6 months of populist lies and then it's back to business as usual of catering to the rich at the expense of working men and women.
comment in response to post
Because St. Paul elites were mad their million dollar real estate portfolios were losing money. He told businesses BEFORE state workers. He literally caved to the wealthy.

@governorwalz.mn.gov How many veterans are you asking to uproot their lives for a second time after you briefly treated them like adults and gave them the freedom to work a hybrid schedule, only to rescind it? And why are you even rescinding it when hybrid/wfh have been a resounding success?
comment in response to post
Not to mention, with all the tariff inflation coming our way, adding more gas purchases and extended daycare, most employees will not have $ to spend on lunch or HH downtown.
comment in response to post
So are you going to address you are forcing your workers back to the office with no warning and no real justification other than caving to Republican pressure?
comment in response to post
So you care about veterans... But when Trump & Musk say, "We've decimated gvt morale, raised prices, how can we make lives more miserable?" You say, "Hold my beer... Let's make them pay for raising gas prices and parking, child/elder care, and increase air pollution." Shame on you!
