Et ne le sera jamais.

Remember this: Tyranny cannot prevail over people who refuse to succumb to it.

Stop talking about how shitty the orange nutcase is and start talking about how to get rid of him. The options are getting smaller and the price is getting higher. Every day. Be creative. Al Capone stumbled over his tax return, not his murders.

Reminder: we are being trained not to care about other people. It underlines the attacks on migrants, on DEI, on trans youth, on so-called "wokeness." Sure there are legitimate critiques but this is not about critiques. It's about supercharging capitalism's culture of uncare.

The writing in this is beautiful.

This story. Gene Hackman, what a legend.

Thrilled to see 100 STRANGERS, written by Geoff Redknap and me, on the #TheGreyList25 !!

Pierre Poilievre est la mauvaise personne, au pire moment. #MarkCarney

Hitler said the Third Reich would last 1000 years. It lasted 12 and he died cowering in a bunker. Fascism always fails.

Ursula le Guin, on the accusation that fantasy is an escape from reality

The Pitt reached a new creative high with this week's emotional episode, the midpoint of s1. I talked with Noah Wyle, creator R. Scott Gemill, and producer John Wells about what's made the Max hospital drama so great:

Another fantastic Scriptnotes Episode. I really needed to hear this right now.

There are basically 5 ways to accumulate a billion dollars: 1) Profiting from a monopoly 2) Insider-trading 3) Political payoffs 4) Fraud 5) Inheritance Don’t believe the self-made myth.

There's a lot of talk about how a first draft is supposed to be terrible and it's all in the rewrite, but I also think your first instinct for a scene or story or character is often the exact right choice. Writing taps into something deep and unconscious and you have to respect that a bit.

This shit doesn’t happen in France and I’ll tell you why: the rich went too far once and they cut all their heads off and now, when those in power fuck workers over, the French stop working. Don’t forget your real power Americans. They don’t let you have unions for a reason.

A.I. is a tool of oppression & erasure. Please stop enriching oligarchs by using it for your Blue Resistance memes. Just draw stick figures & use alt-text.

"That roaring boat proclaimed its owner as among the winners. But what can you call someone who cannot enjoy the sight of dolphins, if not a loser?" Fantastic article by George Monbiot. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Good morning to this man, and this man only #bbcqt

Elon Musk’s Starlink shouldn’t be operating anywhere in Canada. You can’t trust him, so you can’t trust it.

✍️ Elon Musk : le rêve fou d’un homme pour contrôler le savoir, le réel et le monde En s’attaquant à la production de la connaissance, c’est toute la culture démocratique qui est en danger, dénonce un collectif d’universitaires. Tribune 👇

Once again: The animating purpose of representative democracy is to protect the rest of us from the whims of insane rich people, be they kings or oligarchs. Everything else is wainscoting.

Here is a script you can use for any issue. Find your reps' # at reps.fyi or 5calls.org. Every time you see a news story that horrifies you: call, or something else about it. It matters to say what you believe. You are setting a norm.

It feels like no one should have to say this, and yet we are in a situation where it needs to be said, very loudly and clearly, before it’s too late to do anything about it: The United States is not a startup. If you run it like one, it will break. 🔗 www.wired.com/story/the-us...
