I agree completely. Low-hanging fruit, and already starting to happen as investors look for new safe havens + massive upcoming defence spending a good opportunity to act on this.

But agree completely that Trump is hardly the ringleader when it comes to engaging with the European far right. Very concerning.

It’s still a bit unclear, but according to Dutch media, it appears it was actually organised by the Dutch side (argument was that, for fairness reasons, Trump should also be meeting the Dutch opposition leader - ie Wilders - if he was going to meet the PM, which doesn’t really make much sense).

Apparently Trump was confused about why the meeting was set up to begin with, and said on camera that he didn’t know who Wilders was. So fortunately not quite as bad as it seems.

... And another line is down now, stranding two The Hague-bound trains. Dutch police is considering sabotage as a possible cause for the outages. nos.nl/artikel/2572...

(Channeling Rutte's "Spending more is not about pleasing an audience of one, it is about protecting one billion people." line).

Yeah! From the article it sounds like DSIT might still come in. Wouldn’t be surprised if the whole OneWeb saga has left them wary though.

Fundraising round is in conjunction with the company signing a major contract with the French military: "This week also saw France’s Armed Forces Ministry tap Eutelsat for a 10-year, €1 billion ($1.15bn) contract to provide satellite services, primarily via OneWeb." More of this!

Not yet. But it’s starting to, I think. Not so much in terms of presence of already larger companies, but for the next wave of stuff others are doing very well (Paris, Munich, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Lisbon, etc)

Only Schwab himself and the conspiracy crowd would consider leading WEF a step up from ECB chief…!

His villa - one of the most impressive of Salzburg, until he had to leave it all behind - is currently being refurbished.

We verdienen het niet, dat is waar. Maar 9 punten clear, met een cynische/tactische coach… alleen Ajax geeft zoiets weg. PSV was al kampioen geweest (zelfs met een nog middelmatiger team).
comment in response to post
Alleen Ajax kan dit. *Als* (betwijfel het!) we kampioen worden is het in de laatste speelronde door een last minute goal ergens.

It's as if, at every fork in the road, you were to pick the absolutely most absurd option. You'd end up more or less here.

I kind of got the Clinton mega deal, but still really puzzled who the publishers believe sit in the Patterson/airport thriller reader - Mr Beast fan Venn Diagram to warrant an 8 figure deal

Europe in particular I’d say (depending on what Labour decides to do there the coming years)

Honestly wouldn’t surprise me - 3 parties fighting over the same limited voting pool, while the LDs offer something clearly distinct. There’s still a lot of (former) home county blue wall, and now also disenfranchised urban Labour seats they could pick up …especially in closely run 4 party splits.

I should have mentioned this particular fine was issued by the Irish DPA (though national fines should be partially pooled too). IMO the fact that fine revenues are currently used to reduce MS contributions isn’t that relevant- that’s ultimately a political choice, just like a tech fund would be.
