received a similar letter from Rep Mark Harris from NC. “Elon Musk was tasked to head DOGE as a ‘special government employee’”

I am an attorney and the Constitution applies to everyone with their feet on US soil. I’m advising my clients of their rights, as I always have, and as I always will.

depends on the job and state but non-probationary federal employees are protected and there has to be cause. BUT-I agree that the message is stronger if they resign. Unfortunately, I fear the message will be lost on those that need to receive it.

this is how I feel. Our COA and NCSC both have Republican majorities and Newby is as conservative as they come. Riggs has to recuse herself, so we lose one liberal justice. I’d much rather this case be heard by the not great but still better 4th circuit.

I don’t know, man. I don’t have any confidence in the judicial branch at this point. They seem to be writing him a blank check.

Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands. It’s the second book in the series and I read the first one ages ago. Trying to remember the history but so far it is just the fluff i need to get through these dark times.

literally every lawyer, judge, paralegal, high school civics teacher, probation officer and gas station attendant who didn’t drink the orange kool aid read that order and went “oh, well obviously he can’t amend the constitution by executive order”
