Waving a welcome as well. Also a #romance writer (small town contemporary), reader, and huge into #kidlit since I teach seventh grade.

My holiday novella, Follow Your Dreams, is one of those books. Happy reading! a.co/d/6g8eFOM

Cheering you on. It took years for me to start putting myself first.

And that gets the majority of my work done. I don’t have a ton of emails at home. If I got one and I feel like it could wait until school, I do. It has been a gradual process, but I finally feel like this is sustainable for me.

Sorry. Just hopped on here and saw this. This is my 29th year in teaching. I’m blessed to teach three 82 minute ELA classes and have two prep periods a day. I work all prep period to grade and plan. I do that before and after school during contract time. 1/2

Love this. I don’t prep on the weekends either, or honestly do much - if any - work outside of my hours. It was leading to burn out and not sustainable. Much happier as a result.

Dying. I’ve been to Colorado (including Denver) four or five times in the last ten years. I’d move there in a heartbeat if my family wasn’t here. But I’ve always driven, so we’ll see how this goes. Chris said he might come too so 🤷🏻♀️.

I mean, I’d be there in a heartbeat, but I know the work that was involved.

I still miss it, but am also fine missing it if that makes sense. Love when I get to go and I will try for next year because I love the people and the city is a favorite, but also love being home.

This is our second year of having Thanksgiving week off for fall break, so Friday. Love the week off, but pushes the end of the year out.

I love this entire thread. The nerdiness is a balm in a world gone mad and it shares my love of adult children. My boys are 19 and 22, but still so awesome.
