I already have two jobs that take up a lot of time and brain power: I work in a primary school Monday to Friday and I’m an illustrator. And while I do post on social media and make some tiktoks here and there, I can’t add other jobs into my list like content creator, video editor, public speaker 😭

It’s different when I’m drawing or painting and I just set my phone to record on my tripod. Maybe that’s just the content I’ll do, with voiceovers bc the whole filming myself/trying to do that kind of content just isn’t for me clearly

I wasted a whole day trying to film tiktok videos a few weekends ago and I felt so awful after it bc I was like… I could’ve been painting… or even just chilling watching tv… it felt so unsatisfying and quite miserable really.

Also I’m being slightly hypocritical bc I am trying to be more active on TikTok/reels, making more videos but I’m realising I should only make them if I enjoy them (like my fave art books series, I actually enjoy that) but I’m also realising that I would rather spend my time just drawing

I tried to film bits and pieces for a day in the life of an artist style video and between my day job and rushing out the house at 7:30am, I kept forgetting to film things. I find it hard to be in that content creation mindset bc I am literally just trying to survive minute by minute

Learning how to film, make and edit videos, make them interesting etc is a whole different skillset and it takes time!! Time I would honestly rather spend drawing or even just living my life outside of work.

ā€œBut sharing other people’s art instead of my own stuff weakens my engagement/the algorithm doesn’t like sharing others’ stuffā€ FUCK THAT šŸ–•šŸ½

Like we have to fight back. Create art, post art, don’t worry about what form it’s in, share others’ art that you like, like other people’s art, leave a comment if you really someone’s art. We have got to stop being worried of the algorithm

I feel like it’s telling that out of all the posts I’ve made within the last month on Instagram it’s my posts of actual art I’ve made that have comparatively ā€œperformedā€ the best.

Why are we accepting that this is how things are and twisting ourselves into boxes at the algorithm’s mercy instead of demanding: -an end to AI practices -more job creation -that art is valued and paid properly -taking time to hone our practice and keep creating despite it all

and yes, when you decide to be a professional artist, you make a choice to monetise your art, but there’s a limit. I want to be paid for art I make, not for content creation.

I think it's less accepting things and more people being like "I have bills to pay, this is the easiest way for me to pay those bills" and then going from there.

I don’t want to play the game. I want to push back. Iike no, it doesn’t have to be this way.

I’m recently seeing a shift amongst artists I follow online where they’re diversifying their income streams and their content to stay relevant, and I don’t begrudge them at all btw, but it all just makes me want to pushback like: no, I don’t want this. I want to go back to making and loving art.

I don’t want to be a content creator. I don’t want to be thinking about when is the best time to post or what is the best type of content to post for maximum engagement. I just want to be an artist and I just want to make art.

There's alot of people in general, even outside of this specific topic and example, who would very much disagree with you. There's LOTS of headcanons that go against canon stuff in all kinds of franchises and settings.

Decorate his room, oh definitely. Making him dessert... that one's more debatable. But she could always ask and or get help from Toriel perhaps!
comment in response to post
Canonically, yes. Peoples headcanons however are free to be all over the bloody place.
