Why? Because every time we give tax breaks to the largest and richest corporations, we lose out on money for "helping real children, real providers, real families, who are already stretched to their limits."

Rebecca Katz is a parent of a cutie who goes to Pine Pals in Bemidji. She stepped up in a big way to make this video AND she's stepping up to speak at the press conference in Bemidji on March 3!

Amanda and her staff closed last year for Day Without Childcare and brought their voices to the Capitol. This year, they are hosting a press conference at Milestones, and then rallying for childcare that is affordable for families and pays teachers living wages!

We truly cannot list all of the amazing things she does, the list is so long. We will say that we are so thrilled to be in this work together with her and her incredible teachers and parents.
Benny Roberts of Hallie Q. Brown gets an honorary shoutout for being such a wonderful host tonight! 2/3

Or just skip to the bottom where the report suggests that the problems can be addressed in part by increasing:
✅ Funding for providers to offer more infant and toddler care
✅ Pay and benefits to attract and retain staff
✅ And state and federal subsidies to help families pay for care.

The first time we met Lydia, she decided to come down to the Capitol for our postcard event. She jumped right in and has been holding her legislators accountable ever since! Way to go Lydia!

She just opened a second center last fall, she was on a podcast last week, she hosted a candidate forum in the fall, she hosted one of our Rural Childcare Tour stops in 2023, and she is organizing Bemidji for the Day Without Childcare on March 3! Whew! (cont)

Not sure about you, but our math is telling us that if we lose immigrants working in childcare, the whole system is going to collapse.

Also a good time to remind you that we are seeing family and center based childcares close across our state.
And also a good time to remind you that childcare providers continue to struggle to hire staff - the number one reason for center closures is staffing challenges! (cont)

We love it when elected leaders come to talk with childcare providers and teachers and dig deep into the challenges they face every day in providing high quality childcare that is affordable for families–and then take what they learn back to the Capitol!

Monique shows up in ALL the places to tell all the elected officials that they need to #FundChildCare and make sure that the families of Black and Brown kids can access high quality childcare! Go Monique!

We are out of time. Childcare centers are closing, particularly in Greater Minnesota, leaving families without options. If we truly want to be the #beststate to raise a family, childcare needs to be supported and available everywhere across the state. #fundchildcare
