What matters now is helping each other prepare for the storms, heat waves, floods, fires, landslides, pandemics, and droughts coming at them -- sometimes one by one and sometimes a few at the same time.

What if we knew deep in our bones that in 5 - 10 yrs what we enjoy today (as convenience, comfort, familiarity), won't be viable b/c we crossed 7 of the 9 known planetary boundaries and that a wider social, ecological and economic collapse is on our doorstep?

The ability of colonial & capitalistic systems to provide safe, accessible, affordable, nutrient-dense staple foods using a 6-continent supply chain is already highly stressed.
Climate breakdown is the wildcard that tests which systems break or bend and when.

What does 1.5 C of global warming & flooding mean for the foods we know and love like coffee, chocolate, rice, wheat, corn, sugar, spices?
Empire, colonialism and capitalism are built with these foods in a stable climate. The hydrological cycle has shifted and instability is now the 'new normal'.
