Andrew Tate being allowed to come to the U.S. and avoid facing trial for sex trafficking in Romania is beyond stomach-churning. This man is a HUGE influencer and uses his platform/following to further abuse women who have accused him. Now he won’t face justice, reaffirming his lies to his followers

Reading Onyx Storm and I'm begging Rebecca Yarros to befriend at least one deaf person before writing any more books in this series.... Jesinia deserves better.

"In other countries, this would be called 'an authoritarian coup.' In America, mealy-mouthed officials call our transition into a mafia state 'deeply troubling' and do little to curb the damage." -- HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT (2020)

This week, approximately 200,000 federal workers have been let go.

I feel better than I have in days. Months, actually 😩

Cant. Succumbing to the made up scenarios my anxiety is creating.

How do you sleep after a wisdom tooth extraction? Asking for a friend

Having teeth removed, like, as an experience, isn't anything I recommend doing. This sucks

Wisdom teeth surgery tomorrow morning... I don't feel very brave

Nothing like having a panic attack 10 days into whatever this is and two days before a surgery I don't want to have !!

My PTSD is kicking my ass this week.

I booked my wisdom teeth extraction for Saturday because 2025 can not be going any worse for me #terrified

I don't want to live in a country where the national direction is to be cruel to other people on purpose. Immigrants aren't criminals.

Because everything only ever gets worse and nothing gets better, my ceiling is now leaking.

I wish I didn't have to spend my 20s and 30s fighting for my political life. I'm sad and tired of this shit. I don't want to live in political survival mode, I want to thrive.

I started a new legacy challenge in The Sims as a distraction and been randomizing a lot of things like traits and careers and I want to know why I didn't try this sooner! It makes the game much more fun.

I went to my second orthodontist appointment in two weeks which is very brave of me, actually.

All I want to do is put silly little posts on my silly little blog. Not worry about the rise of fascism in the United States.

Today's one of those days I wish didn't have to end. Hoping the future will be better than I'm thinking it will be, but I've been fooled before. Hold on tight, America.

Art is what helps us through every other fucking thing.

New year, same me.

Book goals for 2025: 1. Read fewer books I know I'll dislike just because they're popular 2. Clear my library TBR list (it has over 50 books currently on it). 3. Utilize Kindle Unlimited more or cancel my subscription.

I started reading A Sea of Unspoken Things by Adrienne Young. Somehow I managed to get my hands on an arc through NetGalley. This is so special to me since Adrienne Young's books - specifically Sky In The Deep - got me back into my reading journey in 2018. Super honored to have this opportunity 💟

The way to stop authoritarian regimes is to stand up to the authoritarian

Choose empathy. Read.

The reason the coup attempt in South Korea failed as quickly as it did is because South Koreans immediately rushed to the streets to say “we won’t let you do that” and force the military to decide whether they’d shoot their fellow citizens or not. Important for us remember over the next 4 years.

Not sure how terrified I have to be about the next at minimum 4 years of my life but it feels like an 85 out of 100.

I wanted a female president for numerous reasons and among them is wanting my mom to see one :( she’s always been my political role model. I believe it’ll happen, I just wish it was now

Instead of doomscrolling, doomliking, or doomreading I decided to restart my animal crossing island

I woke up super anxious this morning after having a less miserable day yesterday. That's the grief progress, I guess.

This week has been so heavy and sad that I haven't wanted to read much at all. Today I finally felt a bit of that want and decided to download a few cozy books. If anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them!

Hi, I'm Kelly :) I like a few things, including: - politics and current events (even these ones) - reading (fantasy, romance, thrillers, mysteries in particular) - dogs (I have one) - music (Hozier, The Weeknd, Beyonce, BTS to name a few) - video games (Horizon Zero Dawn, Animal Crossing, The Sims)

reading books IS political hope that helps :)
