Oddly enough, I was studying for the final exam in my White Collar Crime class in law school when his indictment originally came down. I justified taking the time to read it by convincing myself that it counted as studying since it was full of just about everything we were learning about in class.

I have a family member who works closely with USAID and has explained to me the many direct benefits it provides to the US. But also we need to be loud and clear that this is not how our system is supposed to work! This should not be happening!!

Yes - I’m not sure a lot of Americans realize this is happening right now and is ongoing. TB, malaria. I’m hearing from more hospitals that have had to stop HIV testing and laid off staff. If ppl knew how hard it is to build these local health systems in low resource settings - it is gutting
