Election administrators grumble about CISA's about-face under Trump: "'They’ve hung us all out to dry for the last six weeks,' the source who works with election officials said. 'Why would anyone want help from them now?'"

A veteran who returned injured from Iraq continued serving by working for the VA. She now faces a crisis at home, after the Department of Government Efficiency’s cuts targeted her job. She has spent 22 years in service to the U.S. government. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/30/u...

Pushback works, part gazillion: "Here are the facts: DOGE moved forward with plans to close multiple field offices. Then, without public notice or explanation, they reversed their plans. Now they are trying to pretend like they were never planning to close the offices." popular.info/p/how-the-so...

Millions of you, around the world, have put the lessons I wrote in #OnTyranny in late 2016 to good use. It has been humbling to learn how from courageous and creative dissenters, protestors, and oppositionists. I was honored when John Lithgow volunteered to read them aloud.

A day spent learning from @repraskin @marthasjones, @ava, 3 esteemed federal judges, brilliant historians, @mslatoshabrown, @deuelross @emarvelous and SO many others - absolute joy.The launch of the 14th Amendment Center for Law & Democracy at @howardlawschool was all I dreamed it would be.

Dear media, It’s not: “President Trump Discusses Possible Third Term.” It’s: “Kleptocratic Wannabe Dictator Says He Can Serve ‘Third Term’ In Blatant Disregard Of The Constitution He ‘Swore’ An Oath To Defend.” You’re welcome.

America is in trouble, and we must meet this moment with courage. The time of wishful thinking is over. Now we act. youtu.be/cXR5HLodsT8

It took just two months to drive two of our closest and most important allies into China's arms.

“Brinkema rebuked government officials and ordered both of them released straight from the courthouse. ‘There is no reason why they’re being held.’ Addressing a government lawyer, Brinkema said, ‘If this was a criminal case…I’d throw you out of my chambers.’” www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

ICYMI: An incredibly detailed and thoughtful 112-page order from the amazing Judge Amy Berman Jackson within which she issues a preliminary injunction blocking Trump from dismantling the CFPB. Check out the language here in her Conclusion: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Good for Jenner & Block! A great law firm shows what courage and professional leadership looks like in a difficult time. They deserve our thanks and support. apnews.com/article/trum...

Trump signed an EO late last night stripping collective-bargaining rights from federal workers in national security positions, including everyone at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the FCC, and the GSA, and workers in agency CIO offices. bit.ly/4c9q5qb bit.ly/3QT47hm

Sadly the reason many Americans seeing this video won’t recognize this for the outrage and danger it is, is because this “terrified young student” is wearing a head scarf. That’s how information is processed here.

In case anyone was wondering, we are here:

“Trump and his allies don’t want a fair system; they want a system reminiscent of China’s or Russia’s, that scares lawyers away from these clients and disables their opponents from bringing legal challenges against their efforts to rule by executive fiat.” www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

They did it on Signal to illegally hide activity and records from the public.

Top Republicans say they're out of the loop as DOGE downsizes Social Security Administration www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...

Listen. Just listen. This is Susan Rice, our former National Security Advisor who knows what is supposed to happen and why the likely reasons Signal-gate occurred (“lazy, reckless, and trying to evade the Presidential Records Act!”).

Exactly

Do people understand that these morons could have gotten service members killed by sharing all this info in a text group? They willingly and needlessly put the lives of our women and men in uniform in danger.

Trump has no concept of the nation or of its security. This is not an insult to his intelligence. These are just not cognitive categories for him. He can’t care about national security because it’s not a thing in his world.

They’re not going to get out of this by playing semantics. Sending detailed information about an upcoming military strike on unclassified channels (and even to the wrong guy) is wrong, reckless, and obviously a threat to American troops.

Our national shame knows few bounds these days.

Musk has poured millions of dollars into Wisconsin to buy the this Supreme Court seat. The election is in a week - don't let him walk away with it. Join a phone bank, talk to some friendly voters, and kick Musk out of Wisconsin.

It’s comforting for some lawyers to lament the “tough spot” Trump has put some law firms in. But I choose to remember what civil rights lawyers endured, and the integrity & courage they showed despite being considerably more vulnerable that well-resourced law firms being bullied by Trump.

"No one is even pretending that the Department of Justice will conduct a good-faith investigation and, if warranted, prosecute this apparent law breaking. The law does not apply to this administration...This is what happens in dictatorships." www.thebulwark.com/p/our-semi-a...

Smh. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

What Trump, Musk, and DOGE are doing is a cut to Social Security benefits. Period. It’s the opposite of government efficiency. And Americans aren’t falling for it.

Once again: this is not how math works. kffhealthnews.org/news/article...

Is it a constitutional crisis or not? Don't listen to what they say - watch what they do and how they vote.

Remember that the people on the Signal chat include the US negotiators on Ukraine. It is no wonder that Putin is twisting them around like taffy at the county fair. #signalgate

Isn’t part of her job to ensure the IC’s compliance with their own policies?? Good lord these people are losers

“Using a Signal app like this is hiding what’s happening from the government itself. And that is almost certainly the very reason for the use. These are disappearing communications…There also won’t be any records to determine whether crimes were committed.” talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/signa...

Shout out to Jeffrey Goldberg for reporting on this now instead of waiting two years to put it in a book.

"Their behavior suggests these officials have been doing this routinely to discuss all manner of issues, including highly classified ones...In other words, a further and more widespread scandal very likely lurks beneath the surface...There should be consequences." www.thebulwark.com/p/scandal-ho...

Fmr National Security Advisor Susan Rice has LAID IT OUT on @msnbc.com. You wanna know exactly what is outrageous about the conduct of these actors in Signal-gate. Get the tape. She’s on to something, among other questions: why was the Acting Chair of the Joint Chiefs left out of this conversation?

This isn't how gov't is supposed to work: The acting commissioner of Social Security admitted “I was ticked at the governor of Maine for not being real cordial to the president,” so I ended a program in Maine. www.pressherald.com/2025/03/25/s...

For Pete Hegseth to send war plans in such a reckless way puts every single American at risk. He intentionally put highly classified information on an unclassified device. Every single Senator must demand accountability. The Senate must investigate.

Sounds like Hegseth and Waltz should be fired then

Collins: Do you think someone should be fired over this? Buttigieg: Absolutely… if there’s not accountability for a screw up like this, especially from a president who used to fire people on television for sport, what are we even doing here..

This is important news. Dictators try to weaken defamation standards to make it easier for them to sue, and so to deter criticism of them. Justices Thomas & Gorsuch have previously suggested they might be willing to do this, but at least for now, there aren’t four votes to take a case.

LinkedIn post by David Perez of Perkins Coie: "Trump’s latest order targeting the legal profession was no surprise. Paul Weiss’s deal emboldened him to ratchet up his attack on one of the strongest checks on his power: lawyers and the rule of law...Now more than ever law firms have to stand up..."

He’s in for a big surprise if the checks stop.

Their pride, their commitment to never admitting even obvious, provable mistakes is more important than the life of a human being.

“Don’t cry. This isn’t Venezuela,” she told him. “They have a justice system here.” www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...
