I like it so far. Queer travel books are always fun (Andrew Sean Greer's "Less" is a favorite of mine). I'm not that far in yet. I'm traveling myself tomorrow and wanted to save it for the plane.

I'm an unapologetic Neil Diamond fan (the last of the great Tin Pan Alley songwriters) and would recommend to a newcomer anything he did up to Hot August Night, plus Beautiful Noise and the two he did with Rick Rubin near the end of his career. Avoid the covers albums.
