There’s so much going on that we don’t hear enough about. Scary.

Before 2015 this would easily be disqualifying, regardless of political affiliation. Today, it’s simply called ā€œSundayā€ā€¦

Yep, I am the lucky recipient of a whole new heart! ā€œSerious and wonderfulā€ is the perfect description of my experience so far! Thanks again for the positive vibes āœŒļø

Thank you, Cheryl! Yes, trying to keep up with all the craziness…so glad to see all the great protests!

Agreed. But unfortunately that would require some integrity — virtually nonexistent in this administration 🫤

Yes, his bid to become a beloved public messiah appears to be failing. But I fear stepping out of the spotlight won’t prevent his behind the scenes manipulation of 47. After all, he did purchase the office.

Hopeful that the current law suits challenging this authoritarian bullshit are successful.

Although I will acknowledge that Schumer has been in a tough position, I agree 100% that new leadership is desperately needed.

I received my transplant in September 2024, so I’m about four months in. The first three months have been perfect, but slowed down a bit overdoing it over the holidays, picked up a small virus that’s taking me forever to kick. I definitely need to remind myself to take it easy!

As a kid from GA, my first lesson in political disappointment was Jimmy’s loss to Reagan. I have since held every president up against his legacy — and none have come close to matching his integrity, kindness, and humanity. RIP, Mr. President 😢

Yes, ā€œchange agentsā€ doesn’t always seem appropriate. Easy to list all things we haven’t yet accomplished…but it sound like you’re experienced enough to recognize how far we’ve come on certain fronts (as you’ve mentioned yourself;) Wholesale change is just so so rare in national politics.

I get your frustrations, truly. But please don’t assume my stance is borne out of ignorance. I have not ā€œturned on a cable boxā€ for over a decade. Seeking reputable sources and applying rigorous critical evaluation is largely what I do. I do appreciate your views — shared it on and off for years!

I think what doesn’t help is shouting criticisms at the only change agents we’ve got. And when the other side is full on fascism, it’s imperative that opposition coalesces and presents a united front.

But when you’re trying to turn a ship this big, institutional inertia is real. As frustrating as it is, changing course takes incremental wins, striking where we can, when we can.

1st, no disrespect taken whatsoever — healthy discourse like this is what separates us from the simple minded cretins (that unfortunately decide elections). 2nd, I don’t disagree with a single point, Sally (nor you, Jeff). ā€œAll politics is localā€ (Tip O’Neill)… It’s starts with backyard battles!

But in my experience, the ā€œboth sides are corruptā€ attitude is largely how we find ourselves in a second Trump term…sometimes we must throw our support behind imperfect candidates.

Of course, no one is suggesting (well I’m not) she’s some kind of savior candidate. But do you honestly think refusing money would give a presidential candidate a chance to win? Or if winning isn’t the goal, then what? I’m not disagreeing with you…corrupt systems elicit corrupt candidates….

I tend to agree…but hopefully establishment Ds recognize these different times and are willing to do more than just explore more aggressive change.

Also, to suggest Harris has relied on large donors to the same extent as T — or Ds as Rs in general — is preposterous. Campaign finance reform is crucial for leveling the playing field.

That’s just it. I want to laugh at what is sure to be a hilarious breakup, but we’ll be at great peril — like being in the room with two squabbling toddlers armed with assault rifles.

Thanks for this, Goddess…I’ve only just skimmed through some of it. It seems there is certainly a lot of support for investigating the election, but are you aware of any ā€œofficialā€ actions taken by the Harris campaign or LE? It’s just alarming that we haven’t heard much aside from our own grumblings
