Not to mention, it is probably abandoned to promote Next.js. Why would you stop maintaining actively used boilerplate starter.

They way i read it.. They've expressed creating simple SPA app with Vite as reinventing the wheel using such wording like "creating your own framework". Like if you picked Vite then you picked the hard way. Vite was direct replacement of CRA, it should have been in the very first sentence.
