I've never seen calls for them to make that effort to understand why we want equal pay, affordable healthcare, affordable housing, bodily autonomy, and equal rights and dignity for all. Curious.

Okay, I have something that isn't short (12 hours and change), but it is really compelling and written like a thriller: Master Slave Husband Wife by Ilyon Woo. It's the true story of an enslaved husband and wife who emancipated themselves escaping north from Macon, Georgia. It was amazing.

I know it makes me tired just thinking about it. My grandma was one of 13. I had one ancestor who had 18 kids with three successive wives. Those poor women.
