If we were to somehow make a network of people (rather than starter packs) then we can make a new version that removes people who're in a starter pack (crudely assuming that they've been followed because of being in a starter pack)

But check out how AI communities connect various disciplines - neuroscience, quantum physics, computational chemistry and ecology!

I will be updating the network soon, hopefully it will catch these topics.

Huh. I did not. Thanks for sharing!

I haven't made it publicly available yet because I need to clean it up first.. I use API to extract starter pack members and then create a network with my own code based on shared members

Interesting. It can be do-able but it will need the follower-following graph first and then divide it based on whether a follower is in a starter pack or not for a crude measure. I suspect we will see a substantial difference.

Yes absolutely, that was the driving question behind this quest. I will be posting soon about the bridging communities!

Haha! I was debating whether to remove it or not but decided to keep it for fun :D

Making a time lapse of this network is on my to-do!

Huh that's odd. I pulled the data a couple of weeks ago, so the name might have changed? I believe it refers to this: bsky.app/starter-pack...

I did have to filter some out based on number of people/min connections to other packs in order to make the network tractable. I'll revisit my filtering algorithm to make sure we don't lose our such communities!

So cool! I was hoping someone would do this so thank you!

This is very, very cool.๐Ÿ˜Ž

I could go on.. here is my favorite, equivalent to locating one's country on a map - the community of researchers interested in South Asia

Some not so obvious and fun - Packs on complexity science connect to packs on psychedelics through Emergence! :D

It's fascinating to see how communities connect, some obvious but satisfying - packs on Misinformation connect to packs abt Ukraine & open journalism. Or how biomedical eng. connects packs on musko-skeletal research and material research!
