The short biography of Arendt by Samantha Rose Hill is extremely well-written, and recommended.

Jason: I’m lacking this full story due to a paywall for now, but I’m curious if, in the book or article, Larry Charles talks about Larry David’s axing of the documentary about him; and what their relationship is like after that happened.

I am in the “Slow Writer League” (also working on a novel) like you, and I can endorse this statement. I would replace “pause” with “have a poor writing session,” and replace “and then you write again” with “the writing flows again.” But that is probably, largely, what you mean as well.

You are reminding me of the time I watched “The Ted Bundy Tapes” on Netflix, hoping to learn something. In retrospect, I regret it. There is nothing (psychologically) to learn from Bundy; it’s just disturbing sociopathy (if that’s the correct term) and nothing more.

For sure. And then there is the negative version of this: Going back to something you know is great, and discovering (perhaps) that it’s not that great.

Good answer. I would add: the LRB, and Literary Review.
