So here is where I am with the Sabres. They’ve done a fairly decent job of overhauling their defense. Would I like Samuelsson moved still? Yes. Will it happen? Probably not, although as I will get to they may HAVE to.

Sabres pre draft workouts:

The Sabres have like 14 middle six forwards.

I don't think they are going to move Byram, which, if the market is soft, whatever. I think Samuelsson is also probably not going anywhere, unfortunately. I think they need another top six forward but I am sure we don't see it. Interested to see how it pans out.

I like what Adams has done with the D. Of course, they had to also free up cap space for all the future extensions they need to sign. It would be wild if they do move Byram and basically overhaul half their d-core in a week. I don't have any dreams of the big dummy going anywhere.

Apparently they don’t have video capabilities in Russia.

The most work Kevin Connolly has gotten in years.

Quinn got what @evolvingwild.evolving-hockey.com projected he would get. I don't understand that shock and consternation around it. The kid hasn't had a full offseason to work out after getting hurt. Let's take a breath, it's two years.

Sabres news: Jack Quinn re-signs for two years, $6.75 million ($3.375 million cap hit)

The new NHL CBA has uniform team rights to draft picks until age 22. Now I wonder how it impacts where players can be signed and sent.

Being patient with the Sabres and not freaking out about until July 2nd. Not out of confidence. It's like watching a baker put salt instead of sugar. Yes, you know it's wrong and will taste like shit, but you need them to finish the dish before you can say, "This tastes like shit."

Part of the new CBA signing rights are the same across all leagues now. What that is, I haven't heard yet, but that is going to be interesting.

I wonder if this happens in the NIL era more often? Players have been moving around throughout college, getting paid.... There might not be as much of a rush to sign an NBA deal and can push back a bit more.
