Books, bicycles, beer (the occasional tiki drink), good food, good music... that just about covers it.

Not sure it's the worst but has to be the only one that uses the phrase "inclement weather." "The willow turns his back on inclement weather And if he can do it, we can do it, just me and you" Wings (Paul McCartney), With a Little Luck

I had another sport celebrity run-in working at a golf course in Northern Virginia in the 80s. I stopped to let golfers go by and it was Joe Jacoby and Russ Grimm. The hole was very hilly and their golf cart couldn't get them both up the hill. So Grimm got out, shrugged at me, and walked it.

He later rode back by and told me he was quitting for the day. He'd birdied the next two holes and said it would only go downhill from there.

I was working on a golf course in upstate South Carolina when Hall of Famer Jim Rice stopped me on my tractor so I could witness him pulling the ball out of the hole after he sunk it on his second shot on a par 5 (an albatross).

And fantastic work at that. Very excited too hear there may be a book on the way!

True... and yet still such a daily embarrassment for our country that somehow just got even worse.

I never fault the writers for the headlines - just commenting. I realize it's tilting at windmills to rail against the NYT to match a strong, critical opinion piece with a proper headline.

How about "abused" rather than "wielded."

I think you forgot "I'm OK, You're OK" by Thomas A. Harris.

Dammit, I had gone months without seeing his name. Good streak spoiled.

You totally passed up the chance to quote, "hold on loosely."

I think I have ataxophobia.

I have to sing it in my head every time I say his name. Shell! Teeth! Eyes! Flames! Claws! Breath! Scales! Fun!

Can we have a Gamera instead of a Godzilla? He is a friend to all children.

It is exactly that... fear and hatred of Black excellence and success.

Loved that game!

Better man than me that you can actually watch. As the kids say, "too cringe."

South Carolina libraries have the same program!

Love seeing them again. They should bring back some other classics.

His story is amazing and would make a great movie. They're finally giving him the recognition he deserves here in SC with a statue outside of the Statehouse.

Unless a Democrat president tried it first. Then it would have been blatantly illegal and worthy of impeachment.

I say "trick." The reality is these are not smart people and there will be a trail. The "trick" will be, who will follow through and prosecute?

All Kevins approve.

The trick will be following the money. He would not be doing this unless it is lining his pocket somehow. Yes, there was the inauguration fund but an extortionist doesn't even stop extorting.

I got a masters degree in economics from a southern university... about 90% conservative/CATO Institute types. And this was the late 80s.

Sure, sure... "liberty" is just a small issue. No one's ever been up in arms or had a revolution or anything about it. We're still focusing on those pesky egg prices!

My oldest is on the autism spectrum and attends high school, writes amazingly, is incredibly artistic, and is more intelligent and empathetic than the majority of her peers and will be quite successful at anything she chooses to do. The harm Kennedy is doing makes me so very angry.

30?! I'm 30 lbs overweight and just look like I need to be in better shape. He's carrying at least 80 lbs over if not 100 lbs.

I'm in my 50s, walk or bike every day, and avoid fast food and even I am pushing the boundaries of at least some of those markers. It just comes with age. Everything on that reports is a lie.
comment in response to post
Just the lies on height and weight disqualify this report to start. Nothing after can be believed.

As a South Carolinian and Clemson grad I wish I could forget his name.

I want the trains to return but I also want bike paths along the lines. The travel between towns was direct and the grades were all reduced. Perfect for bike travel.

Potentially, yes, I'll concede that. It's just a thought experiment. It won't ever happen as you'd be removing a "sponsor" from the race and the uproar would be huge. But rider numbers need to be reduced and different race incentives need to be considered for safety - and entertainment.
comment in response to post
I always thought it should be 6 riders a team. And if you lose 3, your team should be out of the race.

Do age and weight count? I'm trying to ride away from both.

I knew too many of those who never moved beyond her even in grad school.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure it is all cowardice. I'm sure some condone and/or are fully complicit.

Their grants are a huge part of local library budgets and tech services. This will be devastating.
