I mostly talk nonsense about music, red wine, cycling and West Ham. A grandad now but still a young lad in my head.

Why oh why do people pay good money to go to gigs and then spend almost the entire set talking loudly amongst themselves thereby pi****g off everyone around them that might, you know, actually want to hear the songs instead of listening to a feckin know all explaining to his mates how guitars work?

Said it before, saying it again..Moyes out.. yeah right.. Everton rejuvenated.. We'll be okay with Potter but oh the frustration of wasting a potentially good season.. #westham...

So Trump wants Gaza, basically the locals can f*** off while he, his family and his billionaire buddies work out how to make a mountain of money from rebuilding the place as a tourist destination.. from Trump Plaza to Trump Gaza... right so...sure what's wrong with that...

I've heard many politicians wonder why they're held in such low esteem, why there is apathy at election time, why they are often criticised, ridiculed or worse, why they are amongst the least trusted. Well, lads, watch any 5 minutes of today's Dail clown show and wonder no more..

Take away menu from my local Indian...now I'm not Vegan (don't worry, I'll be sure to tell you all when I convert) but am I right in saying that a dish containing butter, even if it is Kerrygold, could not be vegan given its dairy content..

Oh mudder a gawd I'd almost forgotten.. watching Scannal 20 Blian here on RTE1 and they've just resurrected the Joe Jacobs "Factsheet and Iodine tablets" interview with Marian Finnucane. I used it for years as a "how not to do it" when talking about communications. Hilarious if it wasn't so serious.

The Christmas present from my daughter and son...a signed Hammers shirt. I raised them well. My work here is done...

Am I wrong in thinking that some Irish political parties are more interested in self perpetuation and survival than they are in change? If you stand for election then why would you not want to be in government? Outside government you are powerless and have no influence. But it is more comfortable..

It has been said that when left leaning parties get a bit of success they get a bit giddy and the first thing on their agenda is "the split". And having heard Alan Kelly and Ivana Bacik yesterday and then Marie Sherlock say almost the opposite last night I wonder if it's already started in Labour..?

Our kingdom awaits..we go again..off to the Meath East count centre in Ashbourne for day 2. A lot of eliminations ahead of us to fill the 3 remaining seats. Democracy in action..

I'm a big fan of @maitlis.bsky.social ... Nice interview on the late late....

Pretty much sums up the standard of election debates so far... #ge2024
