200+ scientists are in the middle of a marathon livestream to show why weather and climate science is so important and needs all our help to continue. It is here: wclivestream.com/watch

Who could've guessed joining a make-believe Resistance against an Evil Empire would ever happen in real life?

Donor’s Choose is doubling donations on certain projects today. I’ve linked my project here, but feel free to find a teacher in your own area to appreciate instead. 😊 Help me give my students a color printer so they can improve their literacy skills. www.donorschoose.org/project/lear...

PSA: If you are having trouble with a federal agency like Social Security or the VA, my office is here to help. We have veterans and Spanish speakers on staff who can assist you. Visit salinas.house.gov/casework or call my office at (503) 385-0906 to get started.

If your NC vote has been challenged, the appeals court has triggered a 15-day "curing" period. It is imperative that you contact your local Board of Elections or legal representation for the next steps. The NC GOP is openly trying to steal their state's Supreme Court. Do not let them.

This OPSEC Special Bulletin went out to the Pentagon during the same time period that SECDEF was using an unauthorized Signal chat. You can’t make this shit up.

Are other billionaires deeply invested in China getting this briefing too? Will China be represented at the briefing or will Musk give them a read-out afterwards?

Remember: Almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants who fled persecution, or were brought to America under duress, or sought better lives for themselves and their descendants. Politicians who stoke fear and hatred over immigration want you to forget this. Do not.

Report and block the Moscow bots!

@lildisfan.bsky.social Have a happy birthday!

Only takes 23 Senate Democrats to remove Chuck Schumer from leadership and replace him with someone willing to fight

A YES on cloture is a YES for the bill. Do not let anyone play games with you.

@schumer.senate.gov If you vote for cloture you are a stain on this country’s history that will never go away. You are willingly passing power to a tyrant in waiting, and you are a disgrace to every oath of office any senator has ever sworn. Your legacy will be one of cowardice and contempt.

More of this, please – 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 ICYMI-this is a must see: Representative John Larson (D) calling out Elon Musk and not holding back… Well done! THANK YOU.

Why is Schumer talking about Social Security like it’s Elon Musk stealing candy from a baby? It’s our damn money! I’ve paid in since I was 17—I’m not handing it to billionaires for tax cuts. @schumer.senate.gov , fight for me, fight for my mother! Fight for us! Where’s YOUR voice?

We second this

76 House Dems joined Republicans in voting to repeal a Biden rule requiring cryptocurrency brokers to adhere to the same tax reporting rules as stock brokers. A yes vote is a pro-fraud, pro-tax-evasion vote here.

Most federal employees are in agreement with AOC here: while we want to keep the federal government working, we know things will only get much worse if we don’t push back on this destructive and divisive agenda now.

i think shutting the government down is preferably to nullifying article i of the constitution

Gutting the Department of Education will impact everything from internet access to school buses. Let’s not make it harder to learn.

Senate Democrats— A vote AGAINST the Republican CR isn’t a vote to shut down the government—they’re in charge and need your votes. But a vote FOR the Republican CR is a vote to allow Elon Musk to continue shutting down the government and nullifying the role of Congress.

Per @aoc.bsky.social

Republicans just snuck a provision surrendering power to revoke Trump's tariffs into a procedural vote. All Dems opposed. Every Republican who voted for this will own the economic consequences of expanding Trump's tariff powers. Statement with @repdelbene.bsky.social: beyer.house.gov/news/documen...

GOP State Republican Senator Phil Berger says North Carolina is in fiscally a " great Place" but no money has been released by the NCGOP for Hurricane Relief Victims who are still in tents and Shacks up in our Ashville Area..our Farmers are in trouble because Musk cut USAID ..so Berger is dead wrong

Also, SSA operates at ~1% overhead. Any MAGA Gooner who claims there's any more efficiency to be found is lying, stupid, or both.

Two words. STATE TV

NC senators give initial approval to blocking Attorney General from suing over President Trump's executive orders. GOP says AG should be focusing on state. Democrats say GOP is abandoning the notion of “states’ rights." (Via Avi Bajpal) www.newsobserver.com/news/politic... #ncpol #ncga

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why. What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?

Maybe dem reps could hold their own state of the union on the Capitol steps. Steal the spotlight. Let members like AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Max Frost, and the DNC make remarks. Norms don't exist. Buck them.

“It is an anticipatory, preemptive move to ensure those agencies, entities and individuals cannot cause him problems.” Said Me. thehill.com/homenews/adm...

There it is: Trump announces the US will not be enforcing its new shell company registry, which is the single-best tool to counter kleptocracy.

The Trump administration is: *breaking the law by not spending appropriated money from Congress *breaking the law by ignoring a court order *lying about it *killing people *silencing public employees who are pointing all of this out

“I am alarmed that the civil rights of these detainees are not being upheld,” a federal prison employee wrote to California senators. “They haven’t been charged or convicted and we are literally putting them in prison.” www.latimes.com/california/s...

🔥 @aoc.bsky.social : “The numbers don’t add up. $880 BILLION is a devastating cut to Medicaid, and an attack on Medicare. Anyone who votes for this budget is voting to cut Medicaid and gut health care for Medicare recipients in 🇺🇸.” Full: www.instagram.com/reel/DGg7cr0...

Democrats must make clear that, of course, we believe in changing government for the better - and show how different that is from Trump's destruction of government's capacity to protect workers, consumers, and families.

We've gathered in solidarity wherever federal workers, federal programs and our Constitution are under attack. The majority will defend representative democracy against the cyberbarons.

First nuclear weapons management, now this. No one - Democrat or Republican - voted for this kind of incompetence.

For folks asking if any Dem reps were actually at the rallies yesterday:

I am not making this up: Republicans have introduced legislation… to increase your bank fees.
