The Buffalo Bills signed DT Branson Deen to a Reserve/Future contract. That is the 11th player they've signed to a reserve/future contracts since Monday.

Asked Sean McDermott if there were any players or coaches that exceeding expectations this season, and he was very quick to answer with Dawson Knox -- said both from a playing standpoint, leadership standpoint, and from the trust he's built with Josh Allen

Sean McDermott: "I think that the guys don't know how cool I really am. So, once in a while, I've got to remind them."

Coach Sean McDermott has mentioned the Buffalo Bills' leadership council a few times today. ICYMI, a deep dive earlier this season on what the leadership council does, the structure of their weekly meetings, and why this setup worked for the Bills: buffalonews.com/sports/bills...

Sean McDermott on referee calls that did not go the Buffalo Bills' way against Kansas City: "You live with that. That's not the reason why we lost. ... There's going to be some of that, and you have to be above that and play above that."

Follow up from Matt Parrino if Sean McDermott is committed to bringing STC Matthew Smiley back next season: "Yes."

Sean McDermott adament in saying: "Josh Allen's leadership was *the biggest reason* why we did what we did this season."

Sean McDermott says RB James Cook blossomed this season, but took another step last game against KC. Said Cook was "in a flow state, or just in another strastosphere, his intent" in the AFC title game.

Sean McDermott on STC Matthew Smiley: "I'm confident that Coach Smiley is going to learn" from plays that went wrong this season.

Sean McDermott echoing Brandon Beane: "You never want to build your team to beat one team." Recognizes the talent and coaching of KC, but still doesn't look at it as simply building the Bills with only KC in mind

Sean McDermott: "If you keep doing the right thing, eventually that door will open."

Sean McDermott explains he feels good with the day-to-day proceedings of the Bills, trusting the process if u will, but still not satisfied with the results. "What's left is to go win a world championship."

Sean McDermott: "No one in this building, myself included, is comfortable or content with where we're at."

Hearing from Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott now: "Overall, good season, came up a little bit short, and that feeling never goes away."

Some quick notes from Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane's end-of-season press conference. Story will be updated & we'll hear from coachSean McDermott today as well: buffalonews.com/sports/bills...

Brandon Beane said a few guys are getting second opinions on different injuries, but he believes nothing that will impact training camp participation for the Bills

Brandon Beane says Josh Allen did not break his wrist during KC game. Allen told us Monday he was dealing with some swelling and had his right hand wrapped

Brandon Beane says CB Christian Benford is still in the concussion protocol, but said he's doing well

Brandon Beane on possibility of Micah Hyde playing: "It was kind of never our plan (to play him) unless we ran out of people" Emphasizes how much Hyde did as a mentor to Cole Bishop in particular

Brandon Beane on S Damar Hamlin this season: "I think he even impressed himself." With Hamlin a pending free agent, Beane adds: "You hate the business part of it ... the business part, we'll handle that, but I'm super proud of him. There's no bigger fan of Damar than me"

Brandon Beane: "I'm zero (percent) less confident in those guys" on Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid working through injuries

Brandon Beane on Kincaid: "Dalton didn't have the year that he expected or we expected." Mentions Kincaid hurting his PCL vs Colts -- says he does not think he'll need surgery, but will need time to rest "We believe in Dalton. & Dalton is a big part of our plans moving forward"

Brandon Beane on Keon Coleman says he didn't see same player post-injury coming down the stretch. "I wish he had finished the season stronger, but we had honest, direct conversations with Keon. ... Let's give him a little grace here. His career will not be defined by 1 season"

Brandon Beane says he does believe Josh Allen had the first down on controversal fourth down call: "Nothing has changed my mind on that." Brandon Beane adds: "By no means are we saying that's why we lost this game."

Brandon Beane: "It sucks. It hurts. But I'm not in the mood of you have to blow it all up. I don't think that's rational."

Brandon Beane, asked how much Kansas City's roster influences how he sets the Bills' roster, said that he starts first with the AFC East, because winning the division gets you the chance to play KC in postseason. But from there, yes, he's looking at contenders like KC

"I do think Amari helped our offense. Did he put up All-Pro numbers? No." -- Brandon Beane on Amari Cooper "I do not regret the move. I think it did help us, despite what his personal numbers were." -- Beane

Brandon Beane: "Ultimately, the further you go, the worse it stings. And there's more eyes on you. ... We're right there, though."

Bills GM Brandon Beane giving his end of season press conference now. Starts by thanking players and coaches for doing "a heck of a job" "It's painful to come up short, as you know, and we'll get into that"

Bills cornerback Rasul Douglas: "We don't accomplish shit if we don't win a ring. None of that shit matters. Everybody's got one goal, but only one team handles the goal at the end of every year. All other 31 is just trying to get to that goal."
