The Baltic states Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have today fully decoupled their energy grid from Russia. At the moment they are running in an island mode, but starting tomorrow the energy grid will be reconnected with the European Union.

I rather enjoy this event. It's when scientists present their research as comedy standup. #futurescience #fringeworld #realscience

Exactly what I was looking for today!

Dot plots are an effective (if old school!) way to visualise the pairwise comparison of genomes. For our recent pangenomics project (rdcu.be/d8PZ7), I wrote a small Python package to produce publication ready dot plots. Check it out! github.com/drboothtj/do... pypi.org/project/dotp... 🧪🧬🦠

With gretl, you can compare the output of genome graph construction pipelines with different parameters and perform an in-depth analysis of individual graphs. #plantscience academic.oup.com/bioinformatics/article/41/1/btae755/7932228

Not only registration open, but also project proposals - really excited to see what kinds of things people are excited to work on this time around 🤩 New instructions on how to add to the hackathon website page are here: nf-co.re/events/2025/...

Application to host the 5th International Wheat Congress in 2028 is now open! Hugely popular. The last one in Australia attracted over 800 delegates! 💪 Please RT 🙏

Solo-hackathon - day 1: Sometimes, you just gotta ditch the usual grind and work on your own ideas. A personal hackathon is the perfect excuse to dive into that tool you’ve been thinking about, test out a wild research idea, or just mess around with code without deadlines breathing down your neck.

Good morning & welcome to #Caturday Good things come to those who believe, better things come to those who are patient, and the best things come to those who don't give up.

1/ 🧵 No, you do not always need Single-Cell RNA-seq. Single-cell RNA-seq is popular and powerful, but it's not always the best choice. Here's why you should think carefully before diving in.

It's fantastic seeing the number of local sites grow and grow for the upcoming @nf-co.re #hackathon ! 🎉 Already a new record and with better global spread than ever before 🌎🌏🌍 If you think you can host a site, tell us now! General registration opens in a few days 🎟 nf-co.re/events/2025/...
