Have you watched Legend of the Galactic Heroes? INCREDIBLE space opera from 88-97. I'd recommend finding the (I think no longer available on stream sites) HiDive version & subtitles. Older laserdisk scans are rougher, and the old subtitles are less accurate.

Episode 7 was great all the way through. Episode 8 floored me. Episode 9 gave me full-body chills and jumping and shouting out of my chair. My favourite 3 episodes of live action TV ever. Soooo fucking good.
