We welcome this timely research, which signals another potential roadblock to the expansion of early years places for children with SEND. If providers are struggling to meet costs and open doors, they may find it harder to support children who need additional resources.

The Government’s plan to reform SEND support will fall short unless they consult young people, families & providers on the proposals. The current system is broken - moving from costly crisis response to early identification & support is the only sustainable path.
