it was a captive audience because it was the end of year art school show and i think it is truly where these men thrive as otherwise everyone would have simply left

A side detail here is my mum insists that there used to be way less traffic on the road and ofc cars were smaller. She finds driving now really over stimulating just because of how packed it is. So I think it was easier to do as the consequences for not knowing where you were going were not as great

i think white leftists have an absolute ton to learn from Black and Asian communities tbh, who just get on with setting up corner shops, hair salons, laundries etc that can employ people and provide housing and space to meet. i dont know what we're doing atm but it feels so zero sum to me.

i think a big part of the problem is that the self identified left dont own anything any more or have any power, and don't seem particularly serious about owning things or having power ever again, so all there is is scene beef and arguing on bluesky. im kinda done with that culture personally.

ugh on one hand i empathise with people being honest about their feelings, on the other this fucking sucks and where have we heard "safety, but only for the people i think are morally valid" before?

On some fundamental level it’s not normal to have a moral compass in your head you are placing everyone you know on at all times
It’s fucking weird and quite neoliberal, as if everyone is making a personal choice to do the things they do and think the things they think outside collective contexts

The absolute brain worms some otherwise very smart leftists have ingested to justify their carcerality while claiming to be anti carceral is breathtaking to me. It’s just highly advanced forms of bullying imo.

this feels like derivative open world video games' fault in a way i cant put my finger on
like you can prob do this in skyrim, but thats because its a big 3d sandpit with stuff and not a novel
linked to this idea everything has to have a consistent rules system now or its somehow implausible

even aside from the legal and moral side of this the sheer hubris of telling a customer you wont change the name you have stored for them on the system is absolutely wild

I feel like for a lot of the managerial middle classes “I support trans people“ seems to mean “I feel awfully guilty and a bit sorry” and go no further than that it’s so depressing
