Gung ho has been really weird about the physicals for some reason

Those are when the physical releases are live. Unsure where you’re at but for instance in the states you can only buy the physical copy from Amazon and it goes on sale the same time as the digital.

There are no random encounters. You can see every enemy and can avoid them if you’d like. You can save at any time anywhere.

No worries. I’ve just been really locked in w the release for the past few weeks so I’ve been able to find answers to a lot of common questions. I do think it’s really weird that there are no pre-orders tho.

The WD translation is the base but a lot of the script has been altered. As far as the original dub cast goes there were some issues involving Gung Ho and the guy who owns the licensing. The original VA for Jeane alluded to it not being anyone’s fault tho.

No more “sample my goods!” either unfortunately lol

According to reviewers they’ve updated it but I can’t tell you that definitively. I don’t mind the rework bc outside of the obvious dated stuff I liked that script

Has been reworked**

They took the original WD script and modernized it for the current audience. The slapstick and basically offensive stuff has very reworked

They’ve made a lot of changes

I’ve seen a few ppl who somehow have it already for their switch say they’ve had no issues

Same! Fell flat in a few places but I thought it was a great foundation to build upon. Very similar to the original Suikoden tbh

From what I’ve seen personally playing the game it’s just a spruced up version of the original which is a very good thing since the original had a few…unique charms to it lol

If you talk to the village chief he will move

There are tiers to the endings depending on how many characters you gain but you gotta like not even try to get the real shitty ending

Yeah the “bad” endings are still sick!

Just some unsolicited advice you’ll always miss out on the good ending without a guide but even the journey is still sick as hell

The first game doesn’t give you difficulty options? I know that there are difficulty options for the second game and that’s where the enable/disable function of timed events is too.

The largest criticisms I’ve seen revolve around the game being a little too faithful to its retro roots and honestly that’s such a win for me lol I read tho that it has a fast forward option along w difficulty and even options to disable certain timed events that lock you out of characters.

I agree. The guy who left those comments said that since he didn’t feel spoiled from the review then how can anyone else? Pretty insane take.

Like I’m trying not to be this fan but the written and video review praise the fck out of this game too much for the score to be anything lower than an 8 and it just seems like the dude did it just to be a contrarian. He sounds like a huge dickhead on twitter tbh

The written review is even crazier bc the sentence “masterclass in storytelling” is written and it’s like ??? Is there no story or is it a masterclass which is it?? Lol
comment in response to

The reviewer himself is in the comments basically doubling down about his smug comments too. I don’t take np very seriously anyways but that shit pisses me off lol

If you like JRPG’s, it’s highly considered one of, if not the, best JRPG from the PlayStation era
