I know I'm going to see this a lot so I want to address it: There is no shame in hoping your hobby is genuine in its inclusivity. I'm all for a healthy dose of skepticism, but we've become inured to the ironic "everything sucks" attitude, and that does us no favors.

I kind of don't know what to make about this revelation that Fred Vasseur tried to sign Hamilton for 2024 but was stymied by Sainz' contract Like... was this an everyone knew except for Carlos situation? Did he know but chose to spin something different in the media? Either way, big oof for Sainz

Half way through a severe thunderstorm watch and still nothing. I am dissappoint.

On one side of the page, Suzy Wolff is the perfect person to go up against MBS in this year's FiA elections. Experienced, intelligent, well spoken, deeply embedded in motorsport— When you turn the page over though, maybe things aren't so rosy www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRSw...

"You're always so mysterious I never feel like I know anything about you" Yeah bro that's because my entire life has been a string of 'spoke too soon and jinxed it'

In NZ if you have a pre 2000 vehicle, the inspections are six monthly, which -despite making total sense - is a lowkey pain in the ass. Today, our thirty-one year old Toyota Hilux Surf passed first go for the third time in a row It's the small things in life.

He killed the toy 🫠

do you ever think how fast time goes?

can a sentence really make you feel three-hundred years old?

Seeing as the youtube algorithm rarely recommends me any fellow #F1 youtubers who are women (or just like... not blokes), I'm taking it upon myself to put out the call here. Reply to this post if you're someone other than a cisgender dude who's trying to carve out your own little corner of YouTube 🩵

Last day of summer sadface (´•̥̥̥ ‸ •̥̥̥`✿)

Just remember, testing times are always irrelevant UNLESS its your fave going only 0.07s slower than the car he got booted from on a harder compound of tire

He's more interested in the moth on the back of the couch than F1 testing which like. Valid, bro.

One thing nobody tells you about cohabitating with an enormous, barrel chested cat, is that you have to give them a human bowl to eat out of, because their whiskers are so long to reflect their torso's immense girth, and whisker fatigue is apparently a thing

Got yesterday's afternoon testing session on in the background and good lord the way Crofty constantly talks down to Rachel Brookes gives me the mega ick

Alrighty, regulars to the AusGP, hit me with your best GA park up spots. Got a favourite tree to sit under? Or in??? A corner where you've seen the best action? Spot most at risk of being shat on by a seagull? Hit me, I'm all ears. Or... eyes, I guess.

Solidarity from Aotearoa NZ

Hot take alert: I'm not fully on board with the 'bring back V10s' thing. (Also featuring my abridged thoughts on EVs)

So my local airport is getting a runway extension. It's the 6th busiest airport in the country, has one of the shortest runways IN THE WORLD comparable to the aircraft it handles, and even with the extension STILL won't be able to handle anything bigger than a turboprop. Welcome to Aotearoa.

T-minus 51 minutes until F1 preseason testing broadcast begins ALERT ALERT the off season is finally over

Every night I get into bed some time between 9 and 9.30 and say to myself in a gremlin voice at a minimum at least three times "I love bed I loooove bed" and idk if that's weird or if that's just something that happens when you start nearing forty but it sure does make me feel good

it’s f1 testing week so we will find out about: - is hamilton the new pope? - will leo and roscoe be working the pit wall? - doohan glory runs? - will the w16 oversteer and understeer at the same time? - aston designed another dog or diva? - do mclaren have the strongest twink lineup?

Some of the braindead takes I've seen on Sainz being appointed GPDA director are hilarious The guy's always been a proponent of safety and fairness, knows how to question things while remaining measured and intelligent in his words, & has the respect of the paddock IDK man, seems an obvious choice

Making the most of the last few days of summer before hunkering down in a dark room to write a script about that most talked about macguffin: a return to v10 engines in F1

You think the hotel surge pricing in SG/LV/MIA is bad during a GP weekend, try Melbourne. $250 hotel rooms going for $1000+, lower end for $500+ and that's been consistent since the dates were announced Highkey glad we missed out on tickets and were forced to book through an events agent

Putting the stripe on the Jimny just levels it up to highly desirable levels of adorable IMO

Casually walking past Briscoes on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and was not expecting to see this particular partnership being advertised on a random shop boĺlard in small town Aotearoa.

Me: knows it's clickbait Also me: clicks on it anyway to see exactly how long the arms had to be to create this headline Me: takes one for the team Spoilers: it's because Enchante has the word 'Alpine' (as in, mountains) in the name of one of the products. You're welcome.

These days I feel like every F1 youtuber has a gimmick. So far all I've come up with 'queer woman rapidly approaching middle age talks F1 from her 20 year old Subaru' which i don't think will land all that well with 90% of the target audience.

schumacher and barrichello. give me a moment to get over this.

I am so tired of F1 'news' sites headlining clickbait articles about shakedowns and TPC like it's an indictment of one driver's performance (or lack thereof) when a) it's often one drivers' first time in the car and possibly on the TRACK and b) they're not even running the same damn test program
