I just listened to her argue for pragmatism over purity. Don’t find that particularly controversial.

I don’t see how you get from what she said to Russell Brand.

Good on the Governor who says "see you in court". Good on the prosecutors who refused to be nobbled. Good on the judge who appoints an independent lawyer to do what nobbled prosecutors refuse to do. Good on all those taking constitutionalism seriously, when the president and his cronies do not.

Brilliant episode. I wonder if the reason it’s so jarring from the left is that the point is to overcome individualism in favour of community. We already expect subjective individualism from the right.

Great idea. Same goes for women taking time out midlife for caring for parents. Seeing very experienced people sidelined for that reason.

Take it she’s never read the Lib Dem constitution then (or been to a local event, we can get pretty heated when we’re comparing our cardigans and couscous recipes.)

Badenoch: "Lib Dems are nice. They do helpful things for their communities. Lib Dems talk about meaningful things and people want to listen to them. People like the Lib Dems. People are supposed to like me! IT'S NOT FAIR!!!" *stamps feet, strops off to sulk in corner*

It took the Nazis one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours, and 40 minutes to dismantle a constitutional republic. When the fire starts to burn, every good person better be ready to man a post with a bucket of water if you want to stop it from raging out of control.

My oath is to the Constitution of our state and of our country. We don’t have kings in America – and I don’t intend to bend the knee to one. I am not speaking up in service to my ambitions — but in deference to my obligations.

Absolutely - but we often don’t help ourselves. I’ve run into plenty of ideological purity on the left and an unwillingness to work with people who have the same values but different solutions. The report is a good reminder that there’s still work to do in our own house.

Matched funding, premium caps and mandatory insurance. Totally different to US model. He'll try to convince people it's not the US model he wants to bring in. He will be lying.

JD Vance’s speech in Munich was met with muted applause and silence in parts. It may be the most alarming speech ever given by a US official, let alone a Vice President, to a European audience. In the space of a week, the US has gone ally to hostile nation.

Don't confuse the vocal populist minority with how most people think about immigration to Britain
