Feel free to hit us up if you have any feature requests or run into a bug :)

"Are you a complicated Pull Request? Because you look good to me!" I hear this is a good pick up line

This one is one of my all time favs. Should do a rewatch of it

Let's do it, I plan to be there

What are your thoughts on commit based review? (As opposed to branch based like PRs)
comment in response to post
My pre-GitButler workflow was heavily relying on creating temp commits like "fu1", "fu2" etc and then "absorbing" those with rebase -i fixups :) It's all obsolete now that i get to just drag to absorb/amend with the butler 😅

That part was truly terrifying!

btw - you skipped the most useful interactive command - fixup ;)

Oh this is really insightful, thanks for sharing. Working on @gitbutler.com, something that has been tricky are commit hooks on Mac because of the env situation. I will try out something like what you describe in 1)!

If you do end up trying it in your workflow, do let us know how it goes. I’d love to nail all the corner cases around this use case.

Are you referring to the discourse on Twitter? I believe tweets that contain “Bluesky” are in some way suppressed

Hey! I am really sorry about this shitty experience... I would love to fix this asap - what do you mean by the original authors being pinged?

👋 Hey! Btw - you should check out the rust feed (also the way I saw your message) bsky.app/profile/did:...

So many products today are described as "AI x". But it should be possible to state it's value without the implementation detail that is "AI", right? Similar how we don't necessarily prefix other software products with "software".

Interesting point that I did not consider. Certainly, thinking of all the bad libraries and programs out there makes me want to agree. At the same time, just having more tools and products created overall, increases the number of high quality ones (assuming the distribution is maintained)

this was me just 12 months ago :D

There is a lot of cynicism out there re: LLM tooling potentially reducing the need for developers, but I share your view here Brian - I think more accessible tools simply means that we will create more software
comment in response to post
Totally agree. I really love how it allows me to make big bold refactors with a good degree of confidence. If only the compile times were a biiiiit faster I'd be so happy

I have a Python joke but I am not sure if this is the right environment 🤭

@zed.dev is indeed really good - I have made it my primary editor :)

The rust in production podcast is pretty good! corrode.dev/podcast/ I particularly enjoyed the episode with the Zed founders :)

The entertainment value is not to be underestimated :) Never change, Scott :)

Let me know if you have any feature requests for GB! :)

I hope I didn't leave too many typos in these docs 🙈

100%. I am on a bit of a mission to reduce the number of products that I use while increase the quality of said products. Eg. Kagi for search, YouTube Premium. With the later I so much wish there were tools to customize the recommendations it gives me though...

(this is how i saw your post)

There seems a fair bit of Rust-related posts actually. I just added this Rustlang feed for myself, which is kinda cool bsky.app/profile/robb...

Yeah you are right about readability. Btw, regarding the unwraps, check out the `unwrap_or` :)

I tried Zed twice this year, and on the second time I stuck with it and I am really enjoying it. Have you tried the multi buffer thing? I quite enjoy it for fixing errors etc
comment in response to post
I really enjoy it myself. Though recently, I have started using `map`, `and_then`, `or_else` etc more and more. Do you have a good heuristic for when using a good old match is the more clear approach?

Tauri is pretty cool, it is what got me into Rust actually

The LAN area looks pretty cool. Quick question though - what are the acoustics like in there? Seems like it could get quite noisy with this many people and didn’t see any acoustic panes around.

Same at our household 🙈
