My mom died of the flu at the beginning of this year. She wasn’t immunocompromised. She was in her 60s. The flu was just that bad. By the time she realized she needed to go to the hospital, it was too late. Get vaccinated, and fight for science. It is a matter of life or death, for all of us.

Good morning. The dance, whatever that means to you, is worth fighting for. “During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, protested in the afternoon and danced all night. The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for.

The wages of the richest 1% have skyrocketed 182% since 1979.  Meanwhile, the wages of the bottom 90% have seen just 44% growth.  Trickle down economics was always a hoax.

In 2020, my little brother died. 2 years later on his death anniversary, I got a dachshund puppy named Penny. It feels fitting that I got a 2nd puppy, Bambi, on his death anniversary again. It wasn’t on purpose, just worked out that way, but it feels right.

Meet Bambi.

Today is my birthday. It’s preceded by the deaths of my mom and dad in early Jan, and my little bro in mid Feb. I think both death & birthdays force us to take stock of ourselves and how we’ve lived, which gets harder every year for me, despite trying so hard…
