Despite the inexcusable manner in which this has been handled (isolating 🇺🇦 from talks, emboldening Putin etc), US's actions force Europe to step (as we have failed to). Starmer also sets out a red line to 🇺🇸 in terms of security guarantee (perfectly arranging content for upcoming visit to DC).

I am quite proud of the initial skill shown by UK PM. He pivots to recognise Trump in highlighting Europe's failures (respecting US, & ergo Trump, is needed 4 any relationship) & also shows humility / accountability for Europe's inaction, as should be expressed. I think he is quietly powerful here.

Literally, as I posted this, there were 3 explosions in the city. 1 so loud that the windows shook quite intensely. They were guided aerial bombs aka shelling. Went between two walls immediately.

I read it as #displacement tension in #Ukraine. The fact ppl must displace to survive, yet the unwillingness to leave a familiar place (home) brings with it anxiety. Visualising the #travel to their new location as a #holiday may be a coping strategy but this is forced, uncanny & painful. #poetry 🇺🇦

Tree of the day here in eastern Ukraine, in Izium - bordering Kharkiv & Donetsk. Izium was occupied for 6-mnths & bad things happened. It was also the 1st 🇺🇦 city to be liberated (mass graves were later found). Still, nature rules, look how proudly this 🌳 stands tall against aggression (& the cold).
