But what is America as in the majority of American people gonna do about it. I fear nothing at all…

Devastating for Ukraine and the world. Trump is a threat to all western societies and beyond

Yes it’s true that the AFD won most direct candidates in the eastern states. However, you shouldn’t overlook that also in the western states they got a lot of votes. Not enough to secure them direct mandates, yes, but still a lot of votes are going to this nazi party. It’s a very alarming result!

2/2 To say this movement comes from the US is too easy. It comes from all over, tested and established in smaller countries (Hungary, etc.) Applied to nations worldwide (see Brasil, Argentina and now the US) and this movement is still growing. We need to put an end to this!

1/2 If you look at where Trumps strategy comes from, it‘s straight from eastern European countries, especially Hungary (Viktor Orban), whom it took nearly 15 years to turn a democracy into an autocracy. Orban was inspired by Putins politics, not only when it comes to suppressing media and NGOs

About 80 years ago and still looks futuristic from todays perspective…

Zu dem Thema sehr zu empfehlen ist die neue Auflage des Buches “Nudge” von @rthaler.bsky.social . Gerade die englische Version gelesen, wirklich sehr gelungen!

That‘s why we need to find an EU-wide solution and provide the right conditions and funding for such projects. Europe is strong and a real world-player, if it speaks with one voice and quits the unnecessary infighting

Totally agree! Not only a version of Amazon, Europe needs all kinds of tech products. Developed to the EU standards, they could even be a competing alternative to Silicon Valley tech in terms of reliability and data protection. Only they‘d probably make less money, which is why they don‘t exist yet

Sadly, I think waiting and hoping for the best and winning the next election to turn this mess around is the only realistic plan B. Will be very difficult though, Trump promised the 2024 election would be the last and nearly all the wealthy and people with influence united behind him…

100% ! First step is migrating all official accounts to bluesky so no one who wants to see quick messages from governments or top politicians needs to have any kind of access to X anymore.

If they do, Trump will threaten tariffs for France or smth else to get them released. They’re best buddies now…

In German there is a saying that goes like: „Wie man in den Wald hineinruft, so schallt es heraus“. Meaning you’ll be treated the same way you treat others

If it goes on in such a pace once he is officially in office, he’ll definitely make true of his promise that his supporters (and everyone else) won’t have to vote ever again. Then the world will be a very dystopian place rules by greedy racist billionaires… Let’s hope I’m wrong

Nope, we definitely do not want him over here

So in a way it is because of Trump. Not the way he intended of course but that won’t keep him from framing it otherwise.

That, combined with a huge police force created to enforce prohibition, which had virtually nothing to do after prohibition ended. To justify its existence, another task had to be found and what better to do than suppressing minorities by persecuting them?

Wundert mich nicht, die haben von Beginn an gegen die Koalition gearbeitet, um sich selbst maximal zu „profilieren“. Blöd nur, wenn der ganze Spaß rauskommt…

Couldn’t it be that the value of Tesla stocks is inflated by big investors hoping to gain from growing Musk influence, while the actual demand for his vehicles and Tesla’s market share decrease?

Good that there are progressive influencers like @davidpakman.bsky.social and @briantylercohen.bsky.social who somewhat balance it out. Still I feel like a lot if young people (mostly males) gravitate towards the toxic masculinity of those right wing influencers cause of their simple „explanations“

Actually, there even is a Wikipedia article on this topic… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspici...
