Apparently most guys' brains don't fully mature until we hit our 30's and I can definitely feel the difference compared to my 20's. Insane that girls have this level of clarity from so early on by comparison.

There's so many shady people in the music industry! There's many stories of artists shackled to rich individuals who effectively own everything the artist creates because of getting screwed over and sold out with insane contracts.

Very easy to make. Just 90g fusili pasta, 1 breast (cut into pices). Pasta in boiling water, start timer for 11 mins, add beans to the pot at 10, chicken to an oiled+seasoned pan at 9. Turn all off at 0, drain pasta, 3tbsp of pesto + 1.5tbsp of double cream, mix it all in the pan, serve~

Absolutely, I don't disagree ♥️ I really do think his intentions are good and the ads could do a lot for the community itself plus compensate him for his investments and efforts - it's just a very sensitive subject these days. And of course hindsight is 20/20 as they say.

A lot of people's gut reactions to 'advertising' is gonna be to throw up in their mouths. I don't think this idea has been well communicated. There are good kinds of advertising they're just not what people think of when the word is said and that doesn't seem to be accounted for.

Suggesting you can opt out by supporting the creator's patreon and kofi not to see ads combined with the lack of clarification also comes off as the corporate bait and switch. 'Want the thing you had before without ads? Now you can pay'. Again contributing to terrible framing and communication.

Critique is also largely being met with dismissive and defensive rebukes, corporate language, and the focus on personal investment. Most people don't know what goes into managing a feed, and without the context of what will be advertised it feeds into the negative image.

The framing is also around doing it for financial support, and combined with the broad first impression of what 'ads' are it gives a strong reek of 'selling out' a hand crafted community in an app that is largely ad free. Would help to focus on the community support and signal boosting aspects.

Having skimmed the proposal my feeling is that this has been terribly communicated. Advertising is a dirty word and conjures images of intrusive ads no one wants to see. It isn't clarified until post 5 that the ads will be by/for indie dev content and services (should have been post 2 minimum)
