There are only three political positions in America today 1) I like the fascism 2) I'll acquiesce to the fascism (reasons for this one vary: cowardice, access, denial, misguidedly thinking that acquiescence is savvy, etc) 3) I oppose the fascism The rest is details

Second look at strange women lying in ponds distributing swords as basis for government?

Tbh I would not put it beyond the nypd to just stop doing basic functions of their jobs, leak details and results of that to places like the NY Post, in efforts to try to drive down his numbers, should he win the general

A stunning scoop from @mariasacchetti.bsky.social: Despite pledging to target criminals, the Trump administration has freed a three-time felon from prison in exchange for his testimony against Abrego, a wrongly deported man who has not been convicted of a crime www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

“Independence day is canceled because of fear of secret police raids” is really a level of on the nose political symbolism you just can’t make up.

law professors have been unable to understand why people are actually concerned about this case. it’s not about nationwide injunctions per se, it’s about a court that waited until the issue hurt the GOP, and then intervened on behalf of one of the most egregious constitutional violations we’ve seen

the anti zohran mamdani coalition gains yet another close friend and associate of jeffery epstein

always have to remember the right will get hysterical over every issue of the day it does not matter about validity or truth it is all about feeding their constant outrage machine

Me thinking of the six-figure dollar student debt I paid for a legal education to understand how the Constitution works, and seeing the return on that investment be torched by this Supreme Court

I predict something will not be as bad as we feared and something will be far worse than expected.

Super-quick take while reading the ruling: This is going to be a much bigger deal for challenges to *other* Trump policies than to birthright citizenship (where it's likely that lower courts will still be able to block the policy on a nationwide basis even after this ruling). *That's* the import.

The main upshot of today's birthright citizenship ruling (that I'm still making way through) seems to be that each person victimized by an unconstitutional Trump order has to pretty much sue individually. Trump is free to act unconstitutionally to everybody individually.

John Roberts really is the exact antithesis of Earl Warren. Warren said the SCOTUS has a duty and authority to do whatever is necessary to serve the public good. Roberts says the SCOTUS has no power to help people or restore rights, only hurt them or take them away.

This is what happens when the first time he reads the talking points memo is live on air. 😂

🤣🤣 Boomers would give exec-level jobs away like candy, just bc they liked the cut of your jib, to people who were 27 years old. My dad was absolutely an SVP before the age of 33.

“you come up with a mean nickname to call this guy on TV?” “sure did boss, real fuckin sexy just like you asked”

Since Mamdani won last night, NYC has FALLEN according to my friends there. It is utter chaos. They couldn't get in to their top 3 brunch places+their 4th choice only had spots at *noon* Sunday. The corner bagel place was out of everything. Bus was 5 minutes late and the bodega cat hissed at them.

Of course they didn't. 🙄

FedEx is a microcosm of The One Big Question that was a small part of the last earnings season and potentially a bigger one for the the upcoming: “How much of this was pull-forward?” sherwood.news/markets/fede...

remember when SpaceX was the well-run Musk company

It's impressive how SCOTUS managed to eviscerate the rule of law on two independent levels: 1) it rewards lawless disregard of court orders; and 2) makes Due Process optional. And, they did so without even explaining their ruling.

Yesterday's disgraceful Supreme Court decision blesses defiance of court orders and the abusive treatment of immigrants. The latter fits well within the Court's precedents on immigration, but *used* to be restricted by the former. No longer.

Mamdani should win but he's the latest example of the Democratic Party closing ranks to keep anyone young and exciting and full of energy out of the party - and then they spend countless millions on consultants trying to figure out why they're struggling with young voters

BREAKING: what's left of Trump's sanity The cease fire is about... him. Just like the bombing was about him. 25th Amendment today; Impeachment tomorrow

Trump has to be out of office. Today. No more of this deranged, enraged, stupid old man who thinks the world is only about HIM. He is a manifest threat to humanity

A party that actually wanted to mobilize young and disillusioned voters would be studying Zohran Mamdani’s campaign like the Bible

Considering the context of this video, I can think of no better visual example of what it feels like to be a working creative in 2025.

today is the most amazing day

Today’s unsigned, unexplained #SCOTUS ruling clearing the way for removals of migrants to third countries without any additional process is a disaster—not just on the merits, but because of the government misbehavior that it not only refuses to punish, but effectively rewards. Me, via “One First”:

Honestly, even the Chinese and Russians never made me do this to get a visa. Even the North Koreans, who made me hand over my phone for the duration of my visit, never made this demand.

A great piece of brilliant misdirection since it made people think an attack was happening soon and then an attack happened soon
