Proud to announce Philosophy Smash! It's a series of video interviews with leading philosophers, about topics that matter to everyone. Designed for classrooms, especially at Key Stage 2 and 3. Each video comes with a lesson plan! henrytaylorphilosophy.com/philosophy-s...

A big thank you to all those who have been so positive about my new book. It's about how neurological patients can tell us so much about our selves, how personal and social identities are forged by different cognitive functions, and what it means to belong.

Here we go! The Call for Papers for the XI Congress of the Spanish Society for Analytic Philosophy is now open! Check the details at sefaweb.es/sefa2025/. Deadline: April 15!

philjobs.org/job/show/28634 Come work at Umeå. Unlike much of the world I THINK Sweden will still have universities at least for the duration of this postdoc:

For a series of #philosophymatters webinars happening at UoB with @triphilosophy.bsky.social , I'll be talking alongside colleagues about philosophy, conspiracy theories and storytelling ✨ 17th March! www.birmingham.ac.uk/schools/ptr/...

"the epistemic problem of working out whether we can really know that anyone other than ourselves exists. Midgley argues that someone who has been pregnant, ie, had another someone living inside them, would never consider this an important question worthy of deep, philosophical contemplation." 👀

Interesting findings! In line with @danwphilosophy.bsky.social's excellent work on the marketplace of rationalizations - conspiracy theories might work to rationalize antidemocratic attitudes that are already there, and that's why people adopt them.

I love all my followers equally but I do wish Bluesky would introduce cultivated private feeds

If you considered reading the new book of @awaisaftab.bsky.social you can have a look at my book review in @journalphp.bsky.social

📢 CFP: Feminist Philosophy of Emotion 📢 Excited to co-edit a special issue with @proflaurasilva.bsky.social & Federico Lauria! Topics: power & emotion, emotional labor, epistemic oppression, & more. We especially welcome submissions from underrepresented groups. philevents.org/event/show/1...

New on the #projectEPIC blog today is a cheeky post from me about my recent publication "Psychiatry as Mind-shaping". In the post, I summarise some of the key points which (I hope) will intrigue you enough to read the whole thing! epistemicinjusticeinhealthcareproject.blogspot.com/2025/02/psyc...

A petition in support of the School of English, Communication, and Philosophy at Cardiff, who are being threatened with job cuts that would be devastating for staff, students, and the university

Yay the IMH is on Bluesky! Super exciting! Follow for all things youth mental health @imh-uob.bsky.social

Loved this EPIC day in all senses

This is a national scandal. When will the government wake up and realise they are presiding over the rapid implosion of the UK's world-renowned university sector?

I know for a fact that there's not only great content in this book, but great choice of names for case examples throughout 🤓

I started a Political Epistemology substack, and I decided to begin with an uncontroversial topic. I currently have 3 followers, but I welcome more!

I'm starting a newsletter! Neurodiversity and Capitalism will cover theory, history, politics culture and strategy. I mean to post weekly (with some flakiness) starting this week. substack.com/@neurodivers...

RESEARCH! Many of our autobiographical narratives depend significantly on another person to whom we defer. Eleanor Byrne discusses 'narrative deference' and its relation to trauma, illness, and injury. link.springer.com/article/10.1... #research #narrative #trauma #memory #illness

🎉📢 PUBLICATION ALERT 📢🎉 Have you ever wondered how we can know our motives? Have you been unconvinced by contemporary cognitive scientist and philosophers of mind talking about how bad we are at knowing the reasons behind our actions? Look no further than here: academic.oup.com/monist/artic... 1/3

I want to buy a tablet for mostly just reading and annotating papers on zotero - do academics have any recommendations for good and relatively affordable ones? 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I’ve learnt that when it’s this cold I need to keep my olive oil on the radiator to stop it going weird and cloudy. I hate this.
