“I had no idea it was THIS bad!” We’ve all heard this from a friend or family member who becomes chronically ill. Despite watching us suffer for years, they never understand until it happens to them. Please listen to disabled people. It IS that bad. Protect your health. There’s no do overs.

“Farage is doing well because he’s pushing for a massive shake up to the system. We need to counter that by pushing for an even bigger shake up – by redistributing wealth, investing in communities, and tackling the climate crisis," says Zak. Read: wcwd.substack.com/p/no-growth-...

This is a survey clearly designed to put off from replying anyone who isn't going to give the answers they want. Don't be put off - be angry (and channel it into icily polite answers to their stupid questions based on flawed premises)

The government could save households £100s a year on their energy bills by making these three changes ⬇️ Why wait?

Your 'doom quote' for today: "People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!" www.npr.org/2019/09/23/7...

@rbreich.bsky.social: “For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 1%, it can collect $13. For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 0.1%, it can collect $26. Laying off 7,000 IRS employees (during tax season) isn't about efficiency. It's about making it easier for the rich to evade taxes.”

The focused zeal with which the UK state has pursued journalists Barry McCaffrey and Trevor Birney contrasts with the failure to pursue those who murdered six people in County Down, writes @davidallengreen.bsky.social. www.prospectmagazine...

Energy bills are set to rise again by 6.4% this April — while companies have raked in over £457,000,000,000 in profits since 2020. Your skyrocketing bills are funding their obscene gains. It's time to end this scam and put people before profit. Nationalise our utilities NOW.

Must watch interview. Ed Davey calls for a customs union with the EU to grow the UK economy And Laura Kuenssberg ends up making the case for why the UK should be in a customs union with the EU, without realising it 🤷‍♂️ This is a gold standard interview by @eddavey.libdems.org.uk 👏 Part 1 of 7

Can’t believe the updates from The US… Two emotionally detached narcissists engineering what appears to be a mass looting of the country Triggering culture, tariff and diplomatic wars …while rolling out orders that will hurt the pockets, safety & health of its citizens.

Quite quiet - but here is the poem I wrote this morning for Wolverhampton and for Pauline Boty

Last week was spent explaining to MPs that forcing the sick into work WITHOUT first investing (without financial limit) into social care & the health system, will be creating a humanitarian catastrophe. Suffice to say no one in power wants to listen. I only know facts.

Any idea what this week's Friday mystery object could be? If you find it easy, keep your answer cryptic!

"optimism has drained as Starmer appears either committed to this hardest of Brexits or too worried about the next election to risk losing the votes of red wall Brexiters. But really he has nothing to lose."

Few years away but with every day that passes before easier and easier to imagine the US have a properly undemocratic/‘managed democracy’ election in 2028

These guys don’t even have security clearances yet, but are wading their way deep into govt systems, controlling budgets, personnel, processes, payments etc, locking out or firing the people responsible for ensuring probity. This is an unprecedented power grab. An internal coup. A hostile takeover.

So if I’m understanding today correctly, the world’s richest person Elon Musk, whom no one elected, is taking over federal payment systems and employee data while the federal employees who investigate and prosecute public corruption are being fired en masse.

Good morning! 🪶

What a ridiculous article. Various experts pointed out when the autumn budget was announced that it wouldn't be enough, because the NHS is in a state of emergency+the government should be doing more. Why is anyone trying to make out that this is new information?🚨 www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...
