FOX: The Committee for a Responsible Budget came out today and said it will add $15 trillion to the debt THUNE: This will reduce the deficit, not increase it

I'd say you couldn't make this shit up, but this is their script and it's exactly why we are here with things as they are today.

I did an event in DC & there was a party for donors etc after. Was talking to 2 ppl & I said "Things are so bad." They said "No this is how it is. Things swing one way, then another. It's normal." That's when I realized why Dems are toothless. They have no idea what this is. Frogs boiling in water.

One thing I've noticed following news closely for 20 years now is that any time we have occasion to look closely at police behavior, we find incompetence. They don't prevent crimes, they don't solve crimes, they suck terribly at their actual job. There are exceptions, but that is the rule.

The Telegraph opinion: Washington is ending military aid to Ukraine. Trump’s team insists a negotiated peace is now in America’s best interest. Europe must now choose: step up, pay for U.S. weapons, or fund Ukraine’s own arms industry. But promises far outweigh delivery, and time is running out.

If Elon Musk didn't have the board of Tesla under his thumb, he would've been fired for the lies he repeatedly and intentionally told about this tragic political assassination. I can't imagine any company in America allowing a CEO to stay on after doing what Musk did. He's scum.

After abandoning every mitigation and infecting kids repeatedly, our media wants to know: why do so many children have Long COVID? My latest looks at the newest research, the comforting lies that just won't die, and how we got here: www.thegauntlet.news/p/long-covid...

I'm so glad someone clarified/debunked the "3.5% rule." Read on:

Thx 😁

Just your average commander-in-chief pop-up shop.

political press is doing a real disservice by basically not reporting the nuances of public opinion on deportations, and creating the appearance that most americans support the stephen miller-style gestapo tactics

I absolutely think we need to keep in mind how we might obtain accountability. But raising the import of doing so--with no consideration of the massive undertaking or strategy it would require--is naive.

This is a United States Senator mocking the assassination of a Minnesota legislator and her husband. He pretends to be a good Mormon. He’s a sick fuck.

The way that some people just jumped on the Minnesota shooter being a committed leftist, and gleefully used it to attack people opposed to MAGA, only to go completely silent when it turns out he was a Trump supporter, tells you all you need to know about how we have ended up with this catastrophe

Imagine if the mainstream media were this honest. “What threw people off the most was the inaction of Biden’s DOJ, which…was an indicator of complicity, likely directed by operatives behind the scenes. You don’t let sedition go unpunished unless the plan is for the seditionist to return.”

Here's something I post from time to time. My answer to a reader who asked me: what could journalists do NOW to break with some of their more corrosive habits.

Care about disability rights? DOE is trying to change the rules so new buildings are NOT REQUIRED TO BE ACCESSIBLE to people with disabilities. The last day for public comment is TOMORROW Monday June 16!! See how to submit a comment at this awesome site: dredf.org/action-alert...

A report about billionaires bullying a neighboring community into taking their shit, literally, is perhaps the quintessential American story today.

Get his ass, Venice

Qantas withholding an Australian's phone for an entire 15 hour flight because a foreign government told them to should be a huge scandal. Make this news.

"Impunity, the sadist’s conception of freedom, mainstreamed and marketed as the new American dream." Everything you need to know about 21st-century politics in one sentence from @sarahkendzior.bsky.social's all too superb third book, "They Knew." Every passing day just reinforces her insights.

Tenure isn't the problem: we should want all educators to have tenure. Tenure is just sparkling job security. Given our current institutions, who is granted opportunities to attain tenure and who is disproportionately awarded tenure is what bears scrutiny.

"...and [non-violent resistance] is a much more inclusive technique of struggle." If your idea of people power isn't inclusive of normies, it isn't an idea of people power.

☢️‼️ The Russians have been poisoning Ukrainian military personnel with chemical weapons in the Siversk direction for three weeks in a row, — press service of the "Rubizh" brigade NGU

There goes the nonsense argument that placing American industry inside Ukraine will act as air defense from Russia because they wouldn't dare strike such facilities. By the way, Russia has been striking US-owned enterprises in Ukraine throughout the war.

NOTE DEADLINE OF THE 16th! The US Department of Energy s trying to get rid of important rules of Section 504 that will take effect July 15 unless “significant adverse comments” are received by June 16th. Take action with @dredf.bsky.social: dredf.org/action-alert... #disability #pwME #MECFS

If ppl actually practiced solidarity w/ disabled ppl &masked, this wouldn't happen. The left's embrace of eugenics ensures this outcome; lack of solidarity reinforces vulnerability. As long as the left refuses to grapple w/ its eugenics problem our so-called anti-fascist movement exists in name only

Who could have predicted this? Disabled people. The correct answer is disabled people.

“We don’t need a ‘both sides’ narrative about whether protestors are violent or not. They are protesting the violence of fascism.” thetriibe.com/reshape/we-d...

Every fascist uses illness and violence to disable opponents. They disable us with covid, poverty, police violence, climate destruction, war, transphobia. They count on ableism to make us deny this reality and to abandon each other. Resist. Wear an n95. Use alt text. Make protests accessible.

This is worth sitting with. Just for instance, I know who gave me the infection that left me bedbound. It does happen. This isn’t an abstraction.

New NASA administrator expected to embrace the outdated “geocentric model” of the solar system instead of the widely accepted “heliocentric model”

Em…. Russian flag?

So the woman arrested for wearing a medical mask at a protest was released; cops said it requires a doctor's note. This is not true of the local laws where they are, but—as we told you happens—cops don't know or pay attention to these regulations.

Just a reminder that Trump considered pardoning the men who plotted to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer. “I’m going to look at it. I will take a look at it. It’s been brought to my attention. I did watch the trial. It looked to me like somewhat of a railroad job.” www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...

The tech industry needs serious, meaningful regulation about the things it can sell and how it can sell them, and the neoliberal bullshit of “free markets” has allowed this nakedly harmful software to proliferate, taking advantage of the fact that more people than ever feel alone and desperate

it does feel like a rubicon being passed today but does anyone remember the arson at the house of the most prominent jewish elected leader in america like two months ago

Ominous

With the tragic assassination of a Minnesota Democratic leader, I’m going to underline this point again.
